Overall a good listen
Revisado: 02-02-22
The story is great, I enjoy the writing style, and the time taken to elaborate on scenes, which put you in the same room as these heroes.
My only complaint, and this goes for the books before aswell, are the postlude stories. I dont mind getting more back story on characters, but I wish these events were more tied into the main story (almost all of them cover the past of charcters). Granted these stories show another level of interwoven depth to the relationships we already see in these epics, but c'mon 4-6 hours after every book of 1-5 shorts following what I consider mostly B line characters. I ofc don't want to miss anything that might be crucial for the next book, so I listen to them all. Some are better than others, but I feel a little annoyed when some of them really don't matter for the progression of the main story. The biggest of these which I'll warn you now *spoilers* if you haven't listened to this one yet, is the Beggar or the plague marked. This character had a whole extra short added to the previous book, and then was pretty much unceremoniously killed off by Bane, after serving no real purpose in the story, other than to give bane someone to talk to / build his own character development. By the time I get into the next book, and back to our main heroes in the proper time of the epic, I feel like a kicker that just got iced.
I know that was alot right there, and I hope I didn't push you away from the series, cause it is a good one. I have already gotten the next book, and plan on finishing the series. I'm also 4/5 books in David's kingfall series (waiting on the 5th to release). Either way I'll let you be the real judge, and I understand that some others may actually really enjoy the extra stories at the end.
Happy listening!

Historia
Infused with magic, shadows and starlight, the powerful godblades were believed to be lost nearly half a millennia ago, when the Godswar ended. Now, however, one has been found by the unlikeliest of wielders: Sampson Gaard, a blind but ambitious prince with something to prove. The only question is whether he controls the blade or the blade him. With an insidious evil lurking in the shadows, the answer may very well determine the fate of all Kingfall.

Great story! loved all the different characters! heroics and glory but also plenty of heart wrenching tragedy (especially the extra stories at the end)! if you love epic fantasies, highly recommend this story! will be getting the second book immediately

good story. love the series. mess'd up characters
Revisado: 04-01-21
They murdered my boy Pickle in this story. please do some research into characters in previous books before you go and change them completely. Made it hard to take intense scenes seriously when the narrator kept pronouncing it Pike-L. But if you love this series and want to know what happens to our beloved heroes it's a must listen to. I won't spoil it, but you'll be very confused if you skip ahead.
