Historia
The dead talk - to the right listener. They can tell us all about themselves: where they came from, how they lived, how they died, and, of course, who killed them. Forensic scientists can unlock the mysteries of the past and help serve justice using the messages left by a corpse, a crime scene, or the faintest of human traces.

Historia
They say time heals all wounds. But he was finding it a poor painkiller. Tyler Collens has seen grief and loss in his years of experience as a paramedic - but he never expected it to touch his life in such a personal way. The death of his wife 18 months ago shook his steady world and changed him in more ways than he can count. Time and routine have steadied his feet, and he looks toward the future as he raises his infant daughter - but the past has a tighter grip on him than he knows.

Exciting and satisfying
Revisado: 12-07-20
This is my first novel by Grzy and I enjoyed it! The characters are realistic and flawed, while also trying to be their best according to their faith and values. Near the end, I found myself hoping for more stories to come from this community, centered around this new family. The narration was top-notch with just the right emoting and avoiding overdoing voices that could be tricky for a male narrator (i.e., female and children's voices). I look forward to listening to more from this author!

Historia
From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson compares this epic migration to the migrations of other peoples in history. She interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to new data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.

Fascinating and sobering
Revisado: 02-06-20
A lengthy story spanning decades--but really even longer than that--and eye-opening to the journey and background of those who have come because of us, before us, and by their example, lead us to change our world. Incredible body of work by Isabel Wilkerson and stellar narration by Robin Miles.

not only did I learn so much, but there's a sense of humor you don't often get in nonfiction works. it's subtle and cerebral, but laughoutloud. never mind all that I learned about history, misconceptions, love of pets, Bali, efforts to vaccinate wildlife, and the few survivors and their secret to survival. highly recommend!

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.
