Historia
Commissar Ciaphas Cain and the Valhallan 597th are in the thick of it again, putting down an uprising of Chaos cultists on an Imperial mining world. Though their mission is a success, they find evidence that the corruption might have spread to other planets and that the forge world of Ironfound could now be at risk. The munitions Ironfound produces are vital to the Imperial war effort in the subsector; its safety must be assured at all costs. As battle explodes across the planet, Ciaphas Cain and his regiment come up against allies and enemies old and new in their fight for victory.

More Caiphas and ok story
Revisado: 06-20-23
I always love the series and reaching this one makes me feel the writer is running out of ideas to make Caiphas interesting. Loved the interactions but already knew that Caiphas was gonna win. Only a question of how hard he is going to win. still a good listen at work or while driving to somewhere.

Good. Needed more Hansu and chaos.
Revisado: 11-28-22
Needed more development of or beloved half-breed. audio booking this and comparing it to 30k iron warriors is jarring. The damnation of the Iron Warriors just confirms how destructive the horus heresy was and makes me sad that most characters in 30k are nothing bud chaos Spawn now.

Each of these rogues and killers is different, with particular skills that put them on their path. I want more
Revisado: 05-21-22
Great study of Kharn post HH especially compared to him with Argel Tal in the book Betrayer. Unfortunately the ending just makes us want more if you know the lore implications at the end. This book is the story of Kharn's final dive into the abyss so to speak of Khorn's madness.

Historia
Jack and Kate venture into the grimdark future of Warhammer 40K with this exploration of Requiem Infernal by author Peter Fehervari. Put aside your preconceptions around Space Marines and Orks and find out what hideous delights await you in the WH40K universe (nuns with guns, folks--it's got nuns with guns). Will our hosts be able to sufficiently summarize WH40K lore in under 15 minutes? Why are Space Marines super-boring? What happens when the reader is made complicit in the untangling of the book's narrative? Haven't we all got a dark demonic monster lurking somewhere inside of us? Your ...

Forgot Space Marines were Nazis
Revisado: 05-05-22
As a huge fan of warhammer novels 60+. I was taken back from the comparison to fascist authoritarian space empire. So used to the God-Emperor perspective on things that you forget that they are the bad guys.

Great story. Gurgle nurgle narrator.
Revisado: 05-01-22
I despise the demon voice and the damned navigator voice can go into the warp itself. I love Ahriman's trials as a chaos space marine trying to find hope in hell itself but Damm the man voices suck. The only voices I liked were the antagonist voices to be honest.

Gives some context to a Kriegers perspective
Revisado: 02-15-22
One of the only books that had me interested in a character and to see the conclusion. This book is about Colonel Jurten's actions on Krieg and how one man's actions set course the fate of a people. Super interesting stuff...Didn't really care about the ork and Cadian stuff though. Felt like it was used to compare combat effectiveness of the Krieg.

The Carcharodons have hunted for millennia, but now they are drawn into a new blackness...the Dark City of the drukhari itself. Commorragh. For a thousand years, Chaplain Tangata Manu has searched for a relic lost under his watch: an ancient thing, once charged into the keeping of the Forgotten One himself. But at the brink of seeing his hunt fulfilled and the relic returned, it is stolen from under him.

Book is a bit disappointing
Revisado: 02-15-22
The Hawaii space marines are a bit too silent in this book about them to captivate me and the librarian main character is a bore. I came here for the Hawaii space marines and got the perspective of them from humans and Drukhari...I just stopped halfway through the book. Doesn't have that attachment you get from Agal Tal from the First Heretic or Talos from Soul Hunter.

A whole lot of nothing
Revisado: 01-16-22
This book is better than any light novel I've listened to but as a Warhammer book? It didn't really grab me as an amazing book. I only liked the middle part and the very ending of the novel. The build up to the big bad kind of sucked.
