Historia
If your funny older sister were the former deputy chief of staff to President Barack Obama, her behind-the-scenes political memoir would sound something like this. Who Thought This Was a Good Idea? is an intimate and admiring portrait of a president, a candid book of advice for young women, and a promising debut from a savvy political star.

Tampons, IBS and cats
Revisado: 11-21-17
I was disappointed with this book. I’m sure Alyssa has a lot of interesting experiences working with Obama and in the White House. Unfortunately she spends little time sharing them, but rather talking about her period and constant lack of tampons (why didn’t she just fill a closet with them, rather than just leaving a couple of them at the office, knowing well she always runs out?). A lot of time is also spent talking about her suffering from IBS (due to stress) and a lot about her cat (who cares??). Really a lot of chit chat and “women’s problems” which is OK, but not interesting to me.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

I could not stop listening to this book and I have now started researching Mars. I wish I could hear this book for the first time again.

Too short

Great and to the point. But would have liked hearing more about his background and elaboration on his points and take-aways.

Not much substance
Revisado: 03-22-15
Too little substance. Talks more about basketball and "coach 'K'" than the President. Lacks depth and actual stories about his "inside" life with Obama.

Historia
A remarkable writing debut, filled with indelible moments, The Buy Side shows as no book ever has the rewards—and dizzying temptations—of making a living on the Street. Growing up in the 1980’s Turney Duff was your average kid from Kennebunk, Maine, eager to expand his horizons. After trying – and failing – to land a job as a journalist, he secured a trainee position at Morgan Stanley and got his first feel for the pecking order that exists in the trading pits.
