Meet Cute = Ackward!!!
Revisado: 01-16-21
Moody artist with a bleeding soul meets stead fast doctor with the patients of a saint. Both men are lonely without knowing what they are missing...each other.
Theo is a bit self-destructive and lives life according to how he is currently feeling. He paints when the mood strikes him and drinks, smokes, and has sex a little too flippantly in between times. He is constantly trying to squash that feeling that nothing is ever good enough and is always waiting for that other shoe to drop.
Grant is a creature of routine with everything planned out on a calendar, even his "spontaneous" outings. It would be irresponsible of him not to let his staff know where he is at all times, he is a doctor after all. What if there were an emergency? Shrouding himself in the predictable keeps him from having to feel the gaping emptiness inside.
How Theo and Grant keep crossing paths when there two worlds are light years apart is almost cosmic, and definitely needed. Neither one if them know how to fix what is broken inside them. They can't heal on their own, but if they don't blow their chance, they won't have to do it alone.

Hitman vs. Bodyguard
Revisado: 01-03-21
Opposing sides with the same target. Who will come out on top? Well, as it turns out they both do.
You wouldn't think that these two men would have anything in common. After all, one is paid to kill people for a living with no way out and the other is paid to protect them for their personal security after leaving the Marines. However, you would be wrong. After a couple of run-ins with one another they too begin to notice that they are more alike than different. The undeniable chemistry between them, helps them realize that they might not actually be on opposite sides. Together they can get through anything.
This is not the book that I thought would come after "Two Straights, Too Many" but I really liked it. Keep on doing what you do Romeo Alexander.

FINALLY!!!!
Revisado: 12-23-20
It's finally here! I have been waiting for this book. I was disappointed that there wasn't much about the Keeper in the previous book, but this one made up for it in spades. I already had to listen to it a second time just in case I missed something the first time around.
Now that I know who the Keeper of Bees is, it makes me want to go back and start A Union of Swords all over again to find all the little details that I overlooked. Ugh! The whole series is just so good. I love all of Gregory Ashe's books, but there is truly something special about Hazard and Somerset. I hope there will be more of them yet to come.
I think at this point, in my mind, Tristan James and Hazard and Somerset are synonymous with one another. I can't think about these characters without hearing his voice in my head. If you haven't gotten this book yet, it's worth it.

I’ve settled in at Fort Dale with a great job at the clinic on base, and I’ve even made a few friends. The nearby city offers all I need to enjoy myself on a night off, if you know what I mean. I was just starting to relax and think everything would work out, when he walked into the clinic. Oscar Reyes, the man I fell in love with six years ago and who walked out on me because he couldn’t handle the thought of being out.

Bullets vs. The Closet Door
Revisado: 12-04-20
I think Oscar would take bullets and an IED over the crippling fear of opening the closet door every time. The chemistry between Troy and Oscar is undeniable. Even after years of not seeing each other they still banter like no time has passed. I really enjoyed this book, other than wanting to take Oscar's closet door off of its hinges of course. I also gained a new understanding of Troy that didn't shine through in the previous two books.
I liked how the story line of "I'm Straight Right" was overlapped with this book . Well done Romeo Alexander and John Harris. As always Michael Ferraiuolo was able to give depth to all of the characters in the book, even the side ones. I could always tell which one was speaking by his subtle inflections. I would definitely recommend.

Soldiers die, that’s just how it goes. It’s different when it’s one of your brothers. Team Maelstrom, my team, was broken when we lost one of our own. And now we have to sit around Stateside while the men in charge figure out what to do with us. When they find a replacement, I immediately know it’s not going to work. I can’t deal with this pain in the ass. I want him gone. It looks like I’m stuck with him, but I don’t have to make it easy....

Not the Story I'd Expected.
Revisado: 12-03-20
After reading the first book, I really thought that this book was going to be Troy and Oscar's story. Once I got over my initial confusion I was able to really get into it. Michael Ferraiuolo always has this way of drawing me in with his narration.
I love an enemies to lovers trope and this definitely fit the bill. Romeo Alexander did a great job of articulating the void a team can feel when someone is missing and what it is like to fill that person's shoes. I would very much recommend.

Historia
Eighteen years ago, Tom, a barber college student, got trapped in the Monsters, Maces and Magic game world as Josiah the thief. The first two adventures saw all of Tom’s party members, also trapped within the game world, perish within the fetid depths of the Dark Heart Swamp. His subsequent stint adventuring with NPCs proved short lived. He preferred survival. Over time, Tom became Josiah, adopting a life blending in with the game world’s NPCs. But life, even one lived as a faux NPC, can get interesting.

He's Done It Before?
Revisado: 11-02-20
That's all I could think about throughout this whole book, is how ticked off I was to find out that that stupid game moderator had trapped people as characters in this insane world before. I wanted to scream at Tom/Josiah to wake up and realize that the main characters from the previous two books aren't NPC's at all. I wanted them to join together so that they could all get the hell out of this world. Even though they cross paths in this book it doesn't seem to occur to either party that the other might be their ticket out of here. Aghh. I want to know what happens next.

Better than the 1st!
Revisado: 11-02-20
Once again Jonathan Waters brought this amazing adventure to life. The characters are starting to aclimate more to the world they've found themselves in and are embracing more of there strengths. They're thinking more and more in terms of stats and gaming rules which means they are finally leveling up. I can't wait to see what twists and turns Terry takes us on in the next book.

Historia
Glenn, a college sophomore, has a Sociology 102 paper that requires spending time with an unfamiliar group or culture. Luckily, two hot girls from his class have the same idea: Attend the university’s game club to get material for their papers. A creepy game moderator shows up, ready to start a game of Monsters, Maces and Magic. Glenn doesn’t fret over the GM’s disturbing vibe, figuring it’ll lead to potential fodder for his paper. Moments after rolling up his character and beginning the adventure, Glenn, his two classmates, and three other players are drawn into the game - literally.

Pleasantly Surprised!
Revisado: 11-01-20
I've never read or listened to any LitRPG before, so the whole concept was new to me. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Terry W. Ervin II or Jonathan Waters seeing as how they are both new to me. I found myself slowly being sucked into this world that the author created and it was very much due to the outstanding performance by the narrator. He brought the story to life. It was pretty realistic for being completely fantasy. Once I became fully invested in the characters and thought they were going to complete their quest with flying colors, there was a plot twist at the very end. While it made me angry and disappointed, it set it up nicely for a second book. Overall it was a very good listen and I will be moving on to the next one in the series.

Historia
Emery Hazard is trying to plan his wedding, even though his fiancé, John-Henry Somerset, isn’t exactly making things easy for him. To be fair, Somers has been distracted lately; his father is running for mayor in a hotly contested election, and their hometown is splintering under the weight of divisive politics. In a matter of hours, those poisonous politics invade Hazard’s life in a way he couldn’t have imagined.

I HATE Glen Somerset!!!!
Revisado: 09-16-20
How dare he drive a wedge between Emery and John. Worse yet, how dare they let him. Stubborn. That's what they are. They love one another so much but they let pettiness come between them. Which of course, is all the opening that people need in order to try to drive them even farther apart. From Emery's father's cancer to John's father's mayoral election, and Nico and Dulac sniffing around "being supportive", their relationship goes up in flames fast.
With neither Emery or John willing to resolve their issues, work becomes their best outlet. Hazard had been hired to work on a blackmail case for Glen Somerset and John Henry had all but been told to collaborate with his fiancé on it. Thank God they can still work together, because at this point that's about all they've got left.Their professional relationship has always brought them back together and this time it is no different. When working side-by-side they can finally set aside their differences and just be themselves. Almost. By the end of the book, they both finally remember who and what is important to them and stop acting like petulant children.
Throughout the whole book I was just waiting for the Bee Keeper to make some kind of a grand appearance, but all I got was this teensy weensy small little clue. Which is just so unfair because I want to know more now! The next book needs to come out in audio sooner rather than later, or the anticipation might just kill me. Now, I'm the one acting like the petulant child.
I got the book five days ago and I've already listened to it twice. You know, just in case I missed something really important the first time. I highly recommend this book.

Not So Different Afterall
Revisado: 09-02-20
Caleb's death gave Jake the courage to live. These two brothers were so close, but Caleb hid his true self from his own family including Jake. It wasn't until after his death that Jake was able to find out who his brother had truly been through Liam. One thing is for sure Jake would have never had the courage to be with Liam if Caleb hadn't have died.
This story is heartbreaking, yet uplifting at the same time. It was beautifully written and narrated. It's definitely worth the listen/read.
