A simple and easy to understand with explanations and opportunity for practice. More practice time would be great along an opportunity to apply what was learnt in the lesson.

I loved the story but if not for chapter titles, it would be hard to figure out which male character was speaking. It is a story for anyone wanting to experience LGBTQI+ characters in stable but loving relationships. If not for the male narrator’s performance, I’d give this audiobook a higher rating.

I can now start a list of MM historical romance authors. Summer Devon’s The Private Secretary was an unexpected surprise - well-developed plot and characters especially the secondary characters who in their own way complemented the story of Robert and Ezra.

Thanks to Summer Devon, I believe I now can start a list of MM historical romance authors. I’ll be giving more of her books a try.

Finally, let me not forget narrator Mark James - he gave a creditable performance and really brought the characters and story alive for me.

All in all, an enjoyable listen.

I purchased the first two volumes of Bodies from the library and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Imagine my surprise on discovering a third volume…JACKPOT!

I enjoyed most of the stories especially those last six stories based on “an orange”. The Agatha Christie story while enjoyable, due in large part to Phillip Brereton’s, echoed the plot of her novel “Dumb Witness, and unlike other stories in the anthology did not constitute an original undiscovered story to me.

Despite that one disappointment, I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any fan of Golden Age mysteries! Take a chance, you will not regret!

An Excellent Thought Provoking Look at Life & Living with Depression

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Michelle’s story. It was a sincere, authentic, well crafted tale. I loved how put her life experiences and strategies for coping with depression into context. Her incorporation of her faith and attendant biblical verses felt natural and unforced. The most poignant takeaway message the book leaves you with is that it provides a series of far reaching life lessons that anyone, I mean, absolutely anyone, whether living with depression or, can apply if they are willing, to their own lives.

Excellent story, Indifferent narration

I LOVED this book. Carola Dunn did an excellent job - great plot, well developed characters and complementary story lines. One of the things I hated was the narration, parts of it. Specifically, the narrator's portrayal of some male characters. She had some of the ship's staff sounding like a female rather a male. It's not even a case of them sounding pubescent merely extremely feminine. Her portrayal of Alec Fletcher was ridiculous - a middle class policeman sounding impossibly snooty, and more upper crust than someone like Philip who is from the upper class. His portrayal was at variance with the character created by Dunn. I found him unlikeable and thoroughly deservingly of a longer period of sick leave. Then there is Daisy's voice, which was extremely squeaky and childlike which reduces Alec practically to the level of a pedophile when they are being romantic.

Overall, it's a fantastic book but the narrator just did not do it justice.

This was awful. This is an abridged recording, just a hodgepodge of random snippets from the novel, which fail to do just to the original story. The best thing about this book was the narration buy even that's not enough for this audiobook to merit ⭐⭐.

I loved Jane Asher’s performance as narrator- she did a superb job. The story, in my opinion, was not one of Marsh’s best but Asher brought it to life. Although Allen explained how the murderer was identified, the choice of murderer seemed appeared to be rather randomly selected. Nevertheless, Grave Mistake was a good read with fascinating if not slightly exaggerated characters, a good storyline and enough intrigue to keep you reading and trying to identify the murder before Alleyn reveals him or her.

As always, Agatha Christie makes for fantastic reading. Alas alack, the same cannot be said of the narrator. Charles Armstrong’s anaemic delivery, lackluster portrayal of Christie’s characters and repeatedly proven inability to do decent accents, tendency to turn some characters into caricatures, and distinguish male from female characters almost ruined this audiobook for me. The narrator, to use English parlance was “bloody awful!” If this book is ever reissued, get different narrator - I’ve heard the some of the same stories superbly read by David Suchet and Hugh Fraser. I gave the book 2 stars because the stories themselves were excellent and Mr. Armstrong’s reading was flawless even though boring.
