Harry attacked his commanding officer and is suspended indefinitely, pending a psychiatric evaluation. At first he resists the LAPD shrink, but finally recognizes that something is troubling him and has for a long time. Superb plot and writing, but needs to be re-recorded
Revisado: 08-01-23
The story and writing were great. It’s engaging the entire way through, as you would expect with the Bosch series. I actually enjoy the late Dick Hill’s narrations for this kind of hard boiled detective novel, but this one suffers from horrible audio quality. It’s as if they recorded him reading in a car with a handheld cassette recorder with nothing more than the old condenser mic that used to be built into those things. His mispronunciations (acclimated, forte, tinny) did not help and were a little distracting. Mr. Hill is gone now, but I’m sure the publisher can find a good replacement for a re-recording. I mean, the Bosch series is still immensely popular, so it should satisfy the cost-benefit analysis.

Historia
Between the ages of twelve and twenty-four, the brain changes in important and, at times, challenging ways. In Brainstorm, the renowned psychiatrist and bestselling author of Parenting from the Inside Out, The Whole-Brain Child, and Mindsight, Daniel Siegel busts a number of commonly held myths about adolescence — for example, that it is merely a stage of “immaturity” filled with often “crazy” behavior — to reveal how it is in fact a vital time in our lives in terms of charting the course for the adults we ultimately become.

Excellent
Revisado: 11-17-22
Hearing the narration by Dr. Siegel and the emphasis he intended in his words is invaluable. He has a great speaking voice, so it was very enjoyable to listen. The material was also informative and builds on my current graduate studies in neurobiology and human behavior. I highly recommend this book.
