So I took suggestions to read this book, although it's not in my normal genre, science fiction gets a little off for me, but this book was AMAZING! Seriously I'm sad it's over, I enjoyed it so so much and Weir took some very technical information and made it digestible. I am so happy I read this book. I just feel like like Rocky bouncing up and down tilting my carapace singing in delight 😁 what a great book and wholesome and I'm just so happy. the technical, reality of the book (and I have very VERY basic understanding of science) made it so enjoyable and I learned a bit! thank you R. Grace and Rocky, you have lit up my January and I'll be recommending this book to ANYONE!

honestly, a book that has transported me into a different time and place, where I have connected with each character deeply. I absolutely loved this books which very much felt like a movie. the writing was brilliant and evoked imagery which made it all the more amazing to listen to. I absolutely recommend this book. it was amazing. I'm sad it's over.

this book was absolutely enchanting. the story of Marta/Catherine I was not only impressive but lovely. the narrator was absolutely wonderful and her pronunciation of the Russian names was beautiful. many steamy scenes that were (mostly) tastefully written, and the way the author set scenes or made me hear the ruffle of fabric is all due to incredible writing. I also appreciated how long the book was.

love Dan Brown books for the thrill, substance lies in the amount of history mixed in. the story itself is a bit shallow, pushing for character connection, but it really is a fun read that makes you think. it's like listening to a red collar crimes podcast if that makes sense-- thrilling, captivating, and you learn some history!
