Historia
It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind. Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there. Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown.

Love the “prequel”
Revisado: 10-01-24
I like the throwback to when Jack was still in the military and how he functioned there. It shows him being “less reckless”, or less prone to just fighting “randoms”. Dick hill nails the narration as usual.

Historia
“Why is this town called Mother’s Rest?” That’s all Reacher wants to know. But no one will tell him. It’s a tiny place hidden in a thousand square miles of wheat fields, with a railroad stop, and sullen and watchful people, and a worried woman named Michelle Chang, who mistakes him for someone else: her missing partner in a private investigation she thinks must have started small and then turned lethal.

Classic reacher jet and revenge
Revisado: 09-24-24
I liked the breadth of the story, lots of moving around, twists, and a look at the darkness of man. One of the ones with less raw violence and more mystery which I always enjoy. Definitely recommended!

Historia
Jordan McKell has a problem with authority. Unfortunately for him, the iron-fisted authority of the powerful Patthaaunutth controls virtually every aspect of galactic shipping. In order to survive, Jordan ekes out a living dabbling in interstellar smuggling for outlaw concerns that represent the last vestiges of free trade in the galaxy. So when Jordan and his partner, Ixil - an alien with two ferret-like "outhunters" linked to his neural system - are hired by a mysterious gentleman to fly a ship and its special cargo to Earth, they jump at the job.

Being a fan of Zahn’s star wars books, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was delightful! His style is so easy to follow and enjoy. Great narration as always, truly immersive!

Former military cop Jack Reacher makes it all the way from snowbound South Dakota to his destination in northeastern Virginia, near Washington, D.C.: the headquarters of his old unit, the 110th MP. The old stone building is the closest thing to a home he ever had.

One of the best!
Revisado: 09-09-24
This might be my third time listening to this, but this one is one of my favorites. It’s a lot lower on violence and gunplay, but intriguing as a mystery and minor love story. Dick hill narration is fantastic as ever. Instead of Never Going Back, I suggest to regularly come back!

Historia
Everything starts somewhere. For elite military cop Jack Reacher, that somewhere was Carter Crossing, Mississippi, way back in 1997. A young woman is dead, and solid evidence points to a soldier at a nearby military base. But that soldier has powerful friends in Washington. Reacher is ordered undercover - to find out everything he can, to control the local police, and then to vanish. Reacher is a good soldier. But when he gets to Carter Crossing, he finds layers no one saw coming, and the investigation spins out of control.

The origin story of jack reacher
Revisado: 06-28-24
Another fun chapter being a prequel, if you will to Reacher’s saga. I love the ones where the reoccurring characters show up and it’s not reacher alone being the most dangerous imaginary Rambo, but as the detective that he is. Second time through and it reads better knowing the other books. Narration is the best as usual! A must read!

There’s deadly trouble in the corn country of Nebraska...and Jack Reacher walks right into it. First he falls foul of the Duncans, a local clan that has terrified an entire county into submission. But it’s the unsolved case of a missing child, already decades old, that Reacher can’t let go. The Duncans want Reacher gone - and it’s not just past secrets they’re trying to hide. They’re awaiting a secret shipment that’s already late - and they have the kind of customers no one can afford to annoy.

Classic reacher saga with great narration
Revisado: 06-14-24
Typical Reacher story about a small town with a big secret and Reacher sorts it out. Very sad truth about human trafficking going on with everyone with their heads in the sand. Like ale and interesting side characters. Less crazed action hero than some other ones, this one seems more like something one dude can pull off. A fun revenge on the bad guys who get what’s coming to them as usual. Fun ride. I forget the reader’s name but he always breathes tons of life into story and characters.

Another fantastic chapter!
Revisado: 05-16-24
We really start to see the development of relationships and that murderbot may actually be developing emotional feelings. The idea that the various “AI’s” view humans as “their humans” is a really interesting idea. I don’t want to spoil much, but that the combat bot hides as a logistics droid and other things shows that in this world, technology is becoming a life unto itself, and views humans as a species and other bots as other species.. but it’s time and relationships that build this, it’s not a given…Can’t wait for more.

Yahtzee really does an zing job breathing the voices and world of his stories into his reading. They’re funny, but make people examine their motivations in absurd circumstances. Re-listening to the whole series!

Historia
A magical serial killer is on the loose, and gelatinous, otherworldly creatures are infesting the English countryside. Which is making life for the Ministry of Occultism difficult, because magic is supposed to be their best kept secret. After centuries in the shadows, the Ministry is forced to unmask, exposing the country's magical history - and magical citizens - to a brave new world of social media, government scrutiny, and public relations.

Super fun story, excellent reading by the author
Revisado: 05-01-24
This was such a fun listen, having Y himself read it really breathed life into the story. It was a really fun take on what it would be like if the magical world was actually dealt with in the modern world instead of the way Harry Potter handles it, which is obviously much more focused on the magical world without much interpretation of real world press, government, etc. again, very fun and engaging! Glad there are more in the series!!

Historia
Sci-fi's favorite antisocial AI is back on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah's SecUnit is. And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good. Martha Wells' Rogue Protocol is the third in the Murderbot Diaries series, starring a humanlike android who keeps getting sucked back into adventure after adventure, though it just wants to be left alone, away from humanity and small talk.

Excellent continuation of the series
Revisado: 03-08-24
I’m really loving the murderbot diaries. It’s an interesting interior life of a security droid “without a restraining bolt” with bolt-on human parts to blend in. I’m really enjoying the journey as it grows in making its own choices and is being a little detective or sorts to help itself and favorite humans against some sort of everlasting future interstellar megacorp. Excellent reading by Kevin R Free giving good pacing and credence to the boy’s evolving personality. Can’t wait to keep going!
