Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

There was a nice progression of information shared as well as character development. The ending was a little vague …

Historia
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Relatable

This is a beautiful story about a young woman’s pain and suffering she experienced during WW2. I enjoyed the descriptions of the many locations the author discussed in the book — it made you feel a part of the story. This reminds me of “the boy in the striped pajamas” . This is a historical fiction heavy in history and WW2 timeline. Perfect for those who enjoy this sort of thing.

Used to enjoy

When I began this series I LOVED it. Lately I have been struggling to get through this series as an audio book- just because the voice actor is hard to listen to. It has become almost whiney.
