enjoyable read
Revisado: 12-30-19
This book was enjoyable. good reading; good story. the story is about a young girl from an unfortunate home where Mom and sister are much more concerned about themselves than the young girl, and how the girl discovers love and goodness in others, and ultimately in herself ... a story of redemption. well told, and probably quite realistic.

a good who dun it with too much remodeling

I like the plot ... a good who dun it, but too much distraction with house remodeling and a bit heavy on makeup and personal beauty.

Revisado: 02-23-17
excellent plot containing a great plot, not infinitely predictable, but also not so complex that you get lost. a little bit of salacious romance...we recognize this as classic Reacher. great detective work with some tough guy spec ops stuff thrown in. great from start to finish.

Historia
When Santa Claus is a cop, you better watch out. It’s not looking like a very merry Christmas for San Diego cop Nick Pappas. Suspended from his job, alienated from his family, and persecuted by the press, he’s sorely tempted to turn his gun on himself. Except for his first name, he couldn’t possibly have less in common with jolly old St. Nicholas. But when a local mall decides it needs a secret Santa to help collar some vicious muggers preying on its holiday shoppers, Nick’s persuaded to red-suit up so as to take the naughty punks down and avert a ho-ho homicide.

Revisado: 01-14-17
from beginning to end, this was a great Christmas story. plenty of action and suspense. towards the beginning,I thought this was going to be a cop-, who-done-it mystery, but instead, it turns into a wonderful story of redemption and all that is good, what we imagine Christmas is supposed to be. well told, as well.

Great Story; Terrible Narrator
Revisado: 05-23-15
What made the experience of listening to Transfer of Power the most enjoyable?
Like the preceeding books in the Mitch Rapp series, there is plenty of action. Not too many surprises, but assembled nicely. If you like SpecOps books & you enjoyed Vince Flynn's earlier books, you'll probably still like this one, albeit you need to slog through the performacne.
Would you be willing to try another one of Nick Sullivan’s performances?
Probably NOT. The reading style is stilted - mechanical. It gets better as the book goes on, but the early part of the book nearly ruins it.

Historia
The intensely personal David Copperfield (widely regarded to be the most autobiographical of the author’s novels) is one of Dickens’ greatest works. We follow David Copperfield from birth and miserable childhood to inevitable tragedies, until he finally finds happiness later in life. Full of some of the most memorable characters in literary history. Nicholas Boulton’s depiction of the oily Uriah Heep and David Copperfield’s sinister stepfather, Murdstone, do the novel full justice.

Story of our Life
Revisado: 05-11-13
What did you love best about David Copperfield?
Through the characters in "David Copperfield", we see ourselves. David, from his youth to adulthood, goes through difficult times but proves that the times are not what define us, but our reactions to those times. He is not without fault - finding teenage love in Dora (but remaining true to her, even once he finally figures out she has the keen intellect of a door knob), placing trust where it is not necessarily deserved (but adjusting course when he learns better), and forgiving those not necessarily deserving of forgiveness (his aunt), but in so doing, helping them become their better selves. We see also greed, avarice, hatred, spite, and envy. The story is some times a bit slow, but it is worth the read.

Historia
When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, they also added the admonition that this right shall not be infringed. It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening? History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty - but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything. They are wrong.

Informative; factual; thought-provoking
Revisado: 05-11-13
Would you listen to Control again? Why?
"Control" is loaded with facts and factual anecdotes that clearly point out the flaws in the arguments for "Gun Control", showing that "Gun Control" has little to do with guns and much to do with control.
