Historia
From 2004 to 2011, Terry "Tito" Francona managed the Boston Red Sox, the most talked about, scrutinized team in all of sports. In Francona the legendary manager opens up for the first time about his eight years there, as they went from cursed franchise to one of the most successful and profitable in baseball history. He takes readers inside the rarefied world of a 21st-century clubhouse, from 2004 when they won their first championship in 86 years, through another win in 2007, to the controversial September collapse just four years later.

Historia
NYPD Detective Sergeant Dennis McQueen has his hands full with a very bizarre case. A series of dead bodies have been found, all frozen - killed by various methods, but disposed of in the same manner. Just a coincidence, or is there a serial killer at work? Things heat up when McQueen is sent to investigate a body found in the rubble of a fire and meets FDNY Fire Marshal Mason Willis. Willis is investigating it as an arson, but the medical examiner's report makes it obvious that this is a case for McQueen.

Crimes of Jordan Wise
Revisado: 02-07-12
What made the experience of listening to The Crimes of Jordan Wise the most enjoyable?
Richard Ferrone, the narator, is often very good. He is probably one of the best of the audio book readers working currently. Also I liked the plot. It was set in the recent past and it is about a man who claims to have committed three perfect crimes. In fiction at least, I like the idea of a perfect crime.
Have you listened to any of Richard Ferrone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've listened to several of Richard Ferrone's other performances and he is usally really good. I can't recall him giving a bad performance.
Any additional comments?
Bill Pronzini, the author, is often very good. He might be best known for his Nameless Detective series, which is excellent, but some of his standalone novels are also worth reading or hearing.

Love mystery? Then you'll love this book. Hate mystery? Then YOU'LL love this book. Pronzini is a fount of information about the "best" (read: hilariously inept) in mystery fiction. He's read every book ever written in the genre, it seems, and shows genuine affection for the form. The fun he pokes at the authors and their works is gentle and doesn't distract at all from your wonderment at the fact that these books ever even existed. It might, however, make you want to seek them out and try for yourself.

It was a good book. It is about the history of the mystery genre, some of the worst books in the genre. It was a lot of fun.

I liked the chapter on the publishing house Phoniex Press. That chapter was really enjoyable.
