Historia
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Dissatisfied. The previous was so good and this one left a bad aftertaste
Revisado: 01-27-25
Even though the previous included horrible topics like torture and grief, it was still so satisfying. This one was a page turner too, but had much fewer faunny moments and left me feeling shitty by the end. I'll be rereading the firta two again and again but I'm not sure I can say the same about this one. Anyway, up till a week ago I was devastated I could never be with someone, because he didn't even exist, and at least now that crush is over. So ian a way it's great that I'm not as thrilled by this book as the previous.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Amazing book and storytelling, horrible audio reading
Revisado: 11-07-24
The story was cruel and discomforting at forst but the build up was worth it. aome very funny lines, too. Great romance story
However, the audio was very frustrating, full of distracting sniffs, changes in volume, background noises. Also, is was very hard to discern between when the main character was narrating, talking to people in reality, or (spoiler) talking to people in her mind

frustrating how the good guys couldnn't seem to trust one another and unite
Revisado: 11-01-24
I can respect that the author SJM became much better later. Personaly I didn't enjoy the constant feeling of knowing more about the evil guys than the main characters did, it felt like screaming "he's right behind you!". I prefer heroines that ask for help amd accept it

The short and sweet pallet cleanser of the series

Nothing wrong with how it's written, except it's much shorter and not much happens during this book, as opposed to the previous books in the series

Love story leaves a bad aftertaste, but it makes sense when you lIsten to the next book
Revisado: 09-09-24
Tamland's treatment of Feyre, especially Under the Mountain, left a bad taste in my mouth. I worried younger listeners would feel their relationship was good. So as a standalone, I didn't really enjoy the book because of the romance, even though the voice acting is amazing. This book doesake great sense if you listen to the next one right after. Glad the series was alreday popular, or I would have given up after book 1

Had to rewind a lot, but it was overall addictive and enjoyable
Revisado: 12-02-23
I know the book is already extremely long, but I wish the narrator would have taken a pause between paragraphs and emphasized names with pause and emphasis for clarity, because it would have made following the plot a lot easier. Apart from that, liked the narrator and story a lot.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

I liked everything but the volume of the audio
Revisado: 10-22-22
The story is interesting, performance is good. It's shorter than what Im used to, but it does fit one story inside. The volume was so low though that I could only listen in very quiet places, using earbuds at max volume and rewinding often to try to hear what I missed

So much objectification of women + Plot holes
Revisado: 09-29-22
i liked the first book, and it's nice to listen to long books suh as this. However, I dont recommend this second book in the series, in which women's sexuality is so unrealistic, there's so much objectification, women constantly orgasming in 5 minutes with a stranger, so much sex talk. Plus, some key character plots had holes that let me down.

Historia
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

Very important and very touching
Revisado: 12-30-20
I've highly recommended this book to those closest to me, even before I've finished the first third. This may be the most moving and most important book I've ever listened to or read and I hope that as many people as possible will be exposed to it.
