Historia
“Does the past change the future or does the future change the past?” Romance. Suspense. Mystery. Set in the Ireland, early 1970s. Strangely, for more than a year, photo-journalist Natalie McKenna has been dreaming of another woman’s life. This no-nonsense 30-year veteran of armed conflicts arrives in Ireland prepared to document “the troubles” in Northern Ireland, but totally unprepared to fall in love with a man she was predestined to meet.

A story of destiny
Revisado: 12-04-19
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is a story from a time and place with which I was not that familiar--the conflict in Northern Ireland. It is about two people, Collier and Natalie, who are involved in the conflict for different reasons, and whose paths are destined to cross. Because of her relationship with Collier, Natalie is eventually drawn into the struggle in ways she could not have imagined.
The concept of this book is intriguing on many levels. Suspense, romance, and human struggle are woven together. The story is beautifully told, and past and the present lives intersect. This leads to a lovely ending.
Ian Miller does a fabulous job narrating this book, but I think an Irish accent may have lent itself better to the telling.
Windward Home is wonderfully knitted together by Peggy Kopman-Owens.

Historia
Surviving on the streets of Paris as an artist's model had been difficult, but Laura wanted to be remembered on canvas, as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings had been immortalized. In another place and time, Laura's alliance with the rich and powerful of Paris might have cost her head. However, this was 21st-century France, where the rich and the poor had learned to negotiate tolerance.

The Mist of Montmartre
Revisado: 08-06-19
This was my first audio book experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Peggy Kopman -Owens has written a fascinating tale of Laura, a woman torn between two “worlds,” and the people of importance to her in both. The characters are compelling, and she finds herself loving them, doubting them, and questioning her own values and desires. “The plot thickens” as she tries to find answers in ways that lead her down a dark path. Her life spirals, and everything comes to a shocking conclusion. Steve Ember does a masterful job narrating this dark tale. The rich quality of his voice lends itself beautifully to this story. Thank you, Peggy and Steve!
