Repent and proclaim the good news. ‘Feminism Against Progress’ has exposed the essential misogyny of mainstream feminism at the very moment of its apotheosis. Buy it, read it, and pass it along. This is the kind of book that starts revolutions.

But the narrator

When I read Greene’s novel I was moved. When I heard Firth’s narration I wept. He does miraculous things with a text that is solid but stylistically 2nd-rate. Listen and understand.

Despite an excellent performance by the narrator, there’s little of substance for readers familiar with Sowell’s work, and even those approaching the author for the first time would be better off going straight to the source. It’s not a bad book, just unnecessary.

Murray Plays the Hits

This book is primarily a litany of the all the absurdities of the illiberal left over the last decade. There’s not too much in the way of penetrating insight, but Murray’s excellent written style and the emotional range of his narration keep the piece entertaining throughout. Recommended for anyone right of John McWhorter.

A mixed bag

Pockets of extraordinarily interesting information interspersed amongst some rather banal histories. It’s worth reading, it’s worth owning, but don’t expect to be wowed on every ‘page.’

The text shows its age in a few places, and one can quibble with some of Hamilton’s assertions, but overall this is an excellent overview of Greek thought and important Greek authors. Listen and be inspired to pick up the Greats.

It’s not Aeschylus, but it’s not supposed to be. Fry makes the stories of Greek mythology popularly accessible, much in the same way that Peter Jackson did in film for the Lord of the Rings.
