What made the experience of listening to Steadfast the most enjoyable?

The narrator really brings the characters the story and characters to life in my minds eye. This is another great book for this series. I can't stop listening. The characters and storyline is one of my favorite of all time.

What did you like best about this story?

The unfolding of some sort of Alliance conspiracy.

Which character – as performed by Christian Rummel – was your favorite?

Blackjack of course.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The saga continues.

I just can't wait for each release. I hope there are 300 books released for this series.

Where does Invincible: The Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty high, but I love this series. I eagerly await each new book.

What did you like best about this story?

Switching to the view point of the syndicate worlds was a great angle for this book

Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great as usual. I love the his voice and he performs so solidly.

Get this book if you love scifi but also if you like a well though out story. I love the Lost Fleet series.

If you could sum up Gust Front in three words, what would they be?

Earth desperate fight for existance in a universe manipulate by Allien races bent on either eating or using us to suite their aims.

What other book might you compare Gust Front to and why?

There is no comparison out there that for this book that I have found yet. This book is nail biting fun combined with good old fashion don't screw with the USA. It’s a hell of a ride.

Which character – as performed by Marc Vietor – was your favorite?

Michael O'Neil was the best character of any book I have listened to so far. That’s actually saying a lot. Veitor’s voice is the perfect Clint Eastwood meets General Patton bad ass as Michael O’Neil.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me want to go out and kick the ass of any and all enimies of the USA.

This was the best book I have listened to so far. I like the action and the honor of the main character and the storyline. This was a damn good story well written and narrated perfectly.

Interesting Story Annoying Narrator

What did you love best about Rally Cry?

It was a very intersting and unique storyline.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Abdrew Keane was a COL in the Union army transprted to a world in which humans were cattle. He decides not to play the game with the local humans and fights back.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Patrick Lawlor?

I don't think I would. His voice was a bit odd for me. Although I still got into the story but it just keep rubbing me the wrong way. Kind of like a Nat that just won't go away. I hate to be harsh but I am not sure he was the best choice for the narration.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Transported to a world where man is cattle, these humans bring guns to a sword fight.

This was a great book with ok narration.

Would you consider the audio edition of On Basilisk Station to be better than the print version?

The Audio performance really brings the story alive in your imagination. It’s like you can almost see the characters and the action in a movie in your head. It really lets your mind go. And the best part is you can listen while you’re driving. Try that with a book. I spend so much driving and commuting when I get home I don’t have time to just sit and read so the audiobooks revived my passion for books in a new way and I must say I really enjoy it every bit as much as I ever did reading. Now I almost look forward to long trips in the car.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On Basilisk Station?

When Honor Harrington has to deal with the bureaucratic localized problem of her new post and deals with a surprise attack. How she deals with a never ending series of problems by attacking them as opposed to just trying to get by makes her a very endearing heroine.

Have you listened to any of Allyson Johnson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to her before this book but now I associate her with Honors character because she made it her own.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I space epic that will make you wish you could jump forward 700 years.

Another Outstanding SCI FI Series!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book and series in a heartbeat! This is another Sci-Fi series you can really sink your teeth into. It has a good storyline and great characters and awesome battles. A lot of time was spent on physics in the space combat and I believe most Sci-Fi fans would agree it incorporated into the story nicely.

What did you like best about this story?

The main character was a reluctant hero. Lost in space for 100 years only to be revived before the fleet he was in was suckered into an ambush. All leaders were killed as they tried to negotiate surrender. Then “Black Jack” takes command and discovers humanity has lost the ability to fight with any sort of strategy or tactics. It’s a strange twist but makes for a really fun series.

Which character – as performed by Christian Rummel and Jack Campbell – was your favorite?

As tiered as it may appear, the main character is the best. The conflicts and professional challenges he faces are just unrelenting. And how he deals with that and a strange love interests makes for a fun character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup! Once you got into the story you just want to keep going.

Would you listen to A Hymn Before Battle again? Why?

I have listened to this book 2 times. It is just a great war SciFi epic.

What other book might you compare A Hymn Before Battle to and why?

As far as comparisons go I would say I have yet to find its equal.

What about Marc Vietor’s performance did you like?

The voices were perfect to the characters. Vietor’s range and consistency were outstanding. He was the perfect choice to suck you into the storyline.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I could have I would have listened to it in one sitting. But alas it was a very long book. However, I could not wait to keep going and was absolutely looking forward to every minute of this series.

Any additional comments?

This is by far, my favorite series of audio books. The set up was slow but needed to set the stage for the series. But my god, once it got started it’s was action, tension and FUN!
