I am SO grateful to witness the evolution of an author. Please take the time to look at this author’s works. Great story. Wonderful voice acting that complements the story.

I couldn’t help but feel that there were segments of this episode that were little more than filler; the Seelie and Frog segments, for example. What did these actually add to the story arc? I dunno - perhaps the author has figured out how these will be significant in future episodes, but for now, they’re little better than ill-conceived filler.

And then there are those exceptionally long, run-on sentences. I called those out in the Kindle editions, but to now hear them in the Audible edition? They are PAINFUL, to be sure, but to hear a member of the voice actor team deliver these lines in THE most disconnected voice possible pretty much tells me that at least one voice actor is not invested.

I get that the male VA has very few voice characterizations while the female VA has MULTIPLE voices to portray. It just seemed to me that the VA delivering these extraordinarily long run-on sentences was completely checked out and delivered these lines in THE most disconnected, emotionless, and monotone voice possible. I’m very sure that the narration team will disagree, but to everyone who has listened to this Audible book. You’ll know what I’m referring g to.

But back to the Audible representation of the written word. While I admire this author and LOVE this series, I feel volume 10 is the absolute WORST volume of this series. Some great moments, to be sure, but buttressed by meaningless segments that don’t appear to advance the story in anyway way, shape, or form.

My review is based on two things;

1) the gobbledygook story given to the voice actors.
2) the horrible character characterization from one of the voice actors.

Is this author simply tiring of this series? Is he content with putting out junk while he focuses on a new series? Fortunately, I’m a KU member, so I can preview these books before purchasing them. Volume 10 of Rise of the Weakest Summoner turned out to be crap, and will be the last that I pre-purchase. I’m absolutely OK with checking out at volume 10 if the next, and subset volumes turn out to be little more than a cash grab.

Mr. Author - you NEED todo better.

I liked the entire series storyline, but TOTALLY disliked the male voice actor. Just this pretentious, self-important air to every single sentence. I rated the story 5 stars but the performance as 1 star. The female voice actor did a good job, but it simply wasn’t enough to overcome the shite-show put on by the male voice actor. And BTW - the word “gunwhales” is pronounced “gunnels”, NOT “gun whales”. Did you not do any kind of research??

Sorry, Author Bryce - a great story torn to shreds by a really bad, inept voice actor. Hopefully you can find someone else to voice your male characters in upcoming projects.

The author really did a botched job on the MC - the single most important character in the series. HORRIBLY emasculated. STUPIDLY naive. And the way that DRIVEL anime and manga are treated as forms of fine art. This story was already on shaky ground with the catgirl theme, but once you add in the various ways to trash the MC (which the author did a VERY thorough job of), what you’re left with is a 3-volume omnibus of creepy, crappy, cringy material.

Good story. Narration good for female characters - good character voicing. Male characterization seems out of place.

As MUCH as I wanted to like this installment of the Ringworld, I found it just impossible. SO disjointed. SO inapplicable to furthering the Ringworld story. SO incomprehensible. Only passing references to the the main Ringworld characters. I’ve NO clue what the author sought to accomplish with this book, and I feel as though I was taken advantage of by buying this book.

I imagine it must be EXTRA hard to craft a compelling story without the accoutrements of modern civilization. True - Author Vixen fails in some minor things - mathematical concepts that should be beyond her protagonist’s comprehension are but one example - but for the most part, she nails it.

What I find to be the most compelling part of this story is the raw, visceral reactions of her lead characters. Jak is the lead character, and the story is told from his perspective, but there are a number of very powerful and significant characters. And while their stories are told from Jak’s perspective, they nonetheless assume roles equal to that of Jak.

It is an altogether absorbing story. It takes on MANY twists, some good, some horrific. What I wanted to showcase in this review is the exemplary performance of Narrator Katana. It MUST be VERY tough for a single narrator to voice roles of the opposite gender. One has to imagine the hours of practice and preparation that goes into defining the voice of an opposite gender character. And that’s not even considering the NUMBER of voices to be defined, both same and opposite gender voices.

Put simply, Narrator Katana has done a masterful at defining a unique space and voice for each significant character, no matter which gender. To be sure - each masculine voice is done with her feminine voice, but this is where her amazing acting abilities come into play. She absolutely WILLS you to see those masculine characters through her eyes. I went into this Audiobook version thinking I would be disappointed with a single feminine narrator. But Actor Katana quickly spanked me for that, and handed in a performance that was nothing short of a masterclass on what a superlative performer could achieve.

So - just WOW. An already superlative story, elevated by a number of levels by a single voice actor just doing a paid gig. I can’t help but be struck by what happens when professional actors simply apply their craft.

Edie Skye is an amazing author and Titan Mage is a remarkable story. The voice actors were good, although at times the male voiced like a different person altogether while speaking background, non-character parts. The female actor was generally excellent. Totally enjoyed the Titan Mage Box Set, and look forward to more of Edie Sky’s works.

You’ve likely seen the movie. You already know that the movie is a pale, sensationalist representation of Carl Sagan’s vision.

The voice actor chosen for this work was simply superb. I am gobsmacked at how powerfully this voice actor was able to showcase Carl Sagan’s vision. I HIGHLY recommend this work.
