I enjoyed listening to the book. The character development was a bit lacking, especially over the span of such a long period of time. The main character’s inner voice/view of himself wasn’t consistent with someone who had the confidence and intelligence to accomplish as much as he did.

The rant about masks was necessary?

Dude. I’ve listened to all of these books, plus all of the spin-offs. You’re telling me that Ledger and the crew are rocking cloth masks to prevent the spread of COVID while they’re running and gunning around the world? The comment about people not wearing masks, or rather complaining about people who don’t want to wear them (for any reason), seems way way outside the realm of something the character would care that much about. Sounds more like the author projecting his personal feelings onto the character and it was unnecessary in my opinion. Come on Mayberry, you’re better than that.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book, Ray Porter makes it all the better.

This book is a mashup of two TV shows that I enjoyed in my youth, one called “Sliders” and the other called “Quantum Leap”. Both were great shows and this book puts a different spin on the same concept.

After all of these books, which I have absolutely loved, there are still some minor inaccuracies. The rank described on the Army Ranger on Camp Chapman was that of a Command SGM, not a 1SG as stated several times. A 1SG rank insignia is a diamond not a star.

Admittedly, I only listened to this book because I am a huge fan of R.C. Bray, I mean who isn't, but this story was truly captivating. Having spent the last decade of my life in Psychological Operations for the US military, this book could have been nonfiction. The tactics and practices that PSYOP'ers are restricted from using against US citizens are the very same used by marketing firms across the globe. They are insanely effective, and this book demonstrates that in many ways. It's shocking to me how few reviews this book has received and considering the year that it was published the technology used has only improved to make their jobs easier. This book might not change your behavior, but hopefully it at least makes you think a little bit more about the topic.

The first hour or so of the book has a PLETHORA of jibberish (ancient languages and whatnot) that drove me absolutely mad listening to. I’ve listened to plenty of Maberry’s books so I’m familiar with it, but seriously it was a bit much. Good tie in to the other books though. Great performance by Porter as usual. Although listening to him bring those words to life was irritating.

Keith C. Blackmore can write! And of course RC Bray makes the characters come to life! This book went in so many different directions, but it flowed well. Definitely always has you thinking, what will happen next? The scenes is the saloon were absolutely great, just wow. Smut Smut should return in future books, for sure.
