Cannot wait for more!
Revisado: 04-13-25
Jess Kidd always keeps my interest with excellent storytelling. The narration was fantastic and made Nora very real, relatable, and likable to me. Nora’s character was created by the author, and then captured perfectly by the one who brought her voice to life. I cannot wait for more!!

LOOOOOOVED!
Revisado: 10-30-23
I loved this story for so many reasons. The narration was integral to making it so enjoyable and great. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book, especially after binge listening to all 12 books in another series by Jacka. Please keep them coming!

Very enjoyable!
Revisado: 04-02-23
I skipped the first three in this series, and though I tried the samples multiple times - I just couldn’t tolerate McFadden’s voice. Sarah Zimmerman did a terrific job and felt right for the voice of a character who was finding her way. The story was enjoyable and Zimmerman was easy to listen to. I wish she’d read the previous three books. Looking forward to more Holmberg books in the future!

Love the series!
Revisado: 09-03-22
I’ve enjoyed this series so very much. In this one, the voice of Daniel really started to grate on my nerves. All the other character voices are just fine, but I had to grit my teeth to get through the overly slow, breathiness of his voice in this one. Hopefully, the next one will be easier to listen to - because I adore the storyline and the characters.

Not my usual genre, BUT…
Revisado: 05-01-22
This is not my usual genre, but Kobna Holdbrook-Smith makes the story so completely enjoyable that I’m tackling the entire series. Ben Aaronovitch uses his intelligence, wit, and humor to weave a clever and wickedly delightful tale. Life is serious enough, and this book provided comic relief and kept my imagination and attention completely engaged throughout its entirety. I’m halfway through the second one, and am glad there are several more to go!!

Plain-spoken, headstrong Ophelia cares little about appearances. Her ability to read the past of objects is unmatched in all of Anima, and, what’s more, she possesses the ability to travel through mirrors, a skill passed down to her from previous generations. Her idyllic life is disrupted, however, when she is promised in marriage to Thorn, a taciturn and influential member of a distant clan. She must leave all she knows behind and follow her fiancé to Citaceleste, the capital of a cold, icy ark known as the Pole, where danger lurks around every corner and nobody can be trusted.

I tried so hard to bear through the narration..,
Revisado: 02-04-22
I still have 7 hours left, and cannot return it. The narrator is absolutely unbearable, particularly when voicing Berenilde‘s character. I really want to know what happened, but the overly dramatic, heavily breathy, bored sounding voice of this one character is utterly EXCRUCIATING. I can’t finish this one at this time, and if I ever do, it will be quite an accomplishment.

Sweet with a twist
Revisado: 09-27-21
I enjoyed this newest Ruth Hogan book. The narrator tended to laugh through much of the dialogue, and it definitely portrayed characters as good-natured, though was a bit unusual to do that so frequently. For some reason there were some skips for glitches in the audio that I’ve not experienced in the past, but overall it was a pleasant story and experience!

Loved the Rosie books!
Revisado: 05-15-21
The narrator is fantastic, and really brings the story to life. The Rosie books kept me interested with the thought process and reasoning of Don Tillman. As a teacher of children with learning differences, the story and the challenges the character faced were meaningful and thought provoking. LOVE!!

Historia
In a rare and gorgeous departure, beloved novelist Alice Hoffman weaves a web of tales, all set in Blackbird House. This small farm on the outer reaches of Cape Cod is a place that is as bewitching and alive as the characters we meet. These interconnected narratives are as intelligent as they are haunting, as luminous as they are unusual. Inside Blackbird House more than a dozen men and women learn how love transforms us and how it is the one lasting element in our lives.

Hmmmm...
Revisado: 01-03-21
Well, I finished it. This story cycled through generations of misery linked to a house. It was interesting in places and tedious in others. The ending was so abrupt that I thought my mind had wandered and I had missed something entirely. Blackbird House was a series of tales that of tragedies with no real resolutions. I suppose I’ll be thinking about it for a while, but it may be with more irritation instead of satisfaction.
