Historia
At first glance, Natalie Cavanaugh and Glenn Abbott hardly look like sisters. Even off-duty, Natalie dresses like a Boston cop, preferring practical clothes and unfussy, pinned-up hair. Her younger sister, Glenn, seems tailor-made for the spotlight, from her signature red mane to her camera-ready smile. Glenn has spent years cultivating her brand through her baking blog, and with the publication of her new book, that hard work seems about to pay off. But her fans have no idea about the nightmare in Glenn and Natalie’s past.

Authentic, excellent character development
Revisado: 02-01-25
I loved the way the author touched on so many social issues of the south. The character development and narration were excellent. Can’t wait to read the follow up.

Good for an afternoon listen.
Revisado: 11-04-24
A bit reminiscent of Stephen King and the story line he dips into with true kids from Dairy. Interesting and story deepens as the book goes on. Not sure if I would have paid for it, but as it was a fee listen- I enjoyed it enough to listen to the end.

Historia
Parents Angelina and Ben exist in enviable luxury: not just wealth, success and a gorgeous home, but a loving relationship and beautiful twin babies to complete the perfect family. But having it all means that you have the most to lose. And when cracks begin to appear things fall apart at a shocking pace; and it's twins Max and Mia who suffer the most. Money isn't enough to paper over the problems in this extraordinary and heartbreaking story. It is a foster-caring experience like no other, and one which tests Louise's emotional strength to the core.

Historia
Rene "Boxer" Enriquez grew up on the violent streets of East L.A., where gang fights, robberies, and drive-by shootings were fueled by rage, drugs, and alcohol. When he finally landed in prison - at the age of 19 - Enriquez found an organization that brought him the respect he always wanted: the near-mythic and widely feared Mexican Mafia, La Eme. What the organization saw in Enriquez was a young man who knew no fear and would kill anyone - justifiably or not - in the blink of an eye.

Interesting topic, and stories, but it didn’t draw me in.
Revisado: 07-05-24
The narrator was ok- I think he did the best he could with a book written about a somewhat narcissist individual that had high expectations and desires with a sense of regret too little too late. I finished the listen, so I’d say overall it was entertaining on some level, but it was also free. It was a lot of drug stories, which could be a trigger to anyone recovering from addiction- FYI. It’s hard to get into with so many people introduced into the story and each one having a nickname- it was hard to keep track of who was who. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it.

Historia
Cherry Walker was a devoted, trusting, uncommonly innocent young woman who loved caring for a neighbor's little boy. But when she was asked to testify in court against his abusive mother, Cherry never got the chance. She couldn't lie if her life depended on it - and it did. Cherry's body was found on the side of a Texas road, after being doused with lighter fluid and set aflame. Attractive, manipulative, and violent, mother of four Kim Cargill had a wealth of dirty secrets she'd do anything to keep hidden.

Incredibly Raw
Revisado: 06-30-24
I was concerned about the narrator based on previous reviews, when in fact, I believe he did an excellent job. There was inflection when necessary and emphasis at appropriate times.
The story was well written and albeit hard to hear how someone could be so cruise to another person, much less the own children, it painted a true picture of the woman charged with murder, I didn’t envy the jury in this story, but I feel that justice was certainly pointed in the right direction. I wish we had a final updated 2024 epilogue to know exactly where everyone ended up.
