Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between and depends entirely upon whom you ask. Seeking to undermine the very fabric of the Empire with their arcane warp-sorcery, the skaven, twisted Chaos rat-men, are at large in the reeking sewers beneath the city. Led by Grey Seer Thanquol, the servants of the Horned Rat are determined to overthrow this bastion of humanity. Against such forces, what possible threat can just two hard-bitten adventurers pose?

Historia
The celebrated 2010 HBO miniseries The Pacific, winner of eight Emmy Awards, was based on two classic books about the War in the Pacific, Helmet for My Pillow and With The Old Breed. Audible Studios, in partnership with Playtone, the production company co-owned by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and creator of the award-winning HBO series Band of Brothers, John Adams, and The Pacific, as well as the HBO movie Game Change, has created new recordings of these memoirs, narrated by the stars of the miniseries.

Amazing war book. Like how they used The Pacific actor. God this was a tough read but def worth the effort. everyone needs to read this book, for all sorts of reasons. Not least a warning to the woke about what really matters and the absolute horrors of the path toward civil war on which we find ourselves.
A true honor to the hard as nails men who fought and died for us to lay down our heads in peace.

Historia
A game of cards leads Flashman from the jungle death-house of Dahomey to the slave state of Mississippi as he dabbles in the slave trade in Volume III of the Flashman Papers. When Flashman was inveigled into a game of pontoon with Disraeli and Lord George Bentinck, he was making an unconscious choice about his own future - would it lie in the House of Commons or the West African slave trade? Was there, for that matter, very much difference? Once again Flashman's charm, cowardice, treachery, lechery, and fleetness of foot see the lovable rogue triumph by the skin of his chattering teeth.

Byrne is a libertarian who did not vote for Trump and has publicly criticized him. That said, he believes the presidential election of 2020 was rigged, and that it should be objectionable to every person who believes "just government derives its power from the consent of the governed". In this book, he explains what caused him, in August of 2020, to study election fraud, and what he believes really happened during the 2020 election.

Historia
This ninth volume of The Flashman Papers, faithfully edited and transcribed by Fraser, finds that Sir Harry Flashman is back in India, where his saga began. This time, our hero is sent by Her Majesty's Secret Service to spy on the corrupt court of Lahore, on India's Northwest Frontier. Flashy's most challenging exploit yet is as politically shrewd and thoroughly lewd as ever.

The story of what happened to Flashman, the caddish bully of Tom Brown's Schooldays, after he was expelled in drunken disgrace from Rugby school in the late 1830s. This is the first of George Macdonald Fraser's hilarious satires starring Harry Paget Flashman.

Historia
In what is considered one of Heinlein's most hair-raising, thought-provoking, and outrageous adventures, the master of modern science fiction tells the strange story of an even stranger world. It is 21st-century Luna, a harsh penal colony where a revolt is plotted between a bashful computer and a ragtag collection of maverick humans, a revolt that goes beautifully until the inevitable happens. But that's the problem with the inevitable: it always happens.

Historia
Puritans. Quakers. Pirates. Mohawks. Witches. And a brutal war.... If you thought New England was dull in the 1670s, get ready for a history lesson. In the critically acclaimed My Father's Kingdom, debut author James W. George transported his listeners to 1671 New England and the world of Reverend Israel Brewster. Four years later, Brewster is a disgraced outcast residing in Providence and working as a humble cooper, but despite his best efforts, King Philip's War has begun.

great story, great narration, nice bit of ignored
Revisado: 04-18-20
this and the one before are some great books and the narration was excellent. some very dramatic moments quite well done by the narrator. and whats a bonus is that this is such a bit of forgotten history. my dad lives in simsbury, under the shadow of talcott mountain, which has a huge cave that everyone in the valley cam see, and the legend is that king phillip sat in that cave ans watched the town burn. king philips cave they call it. then an hour north up rt 10 is deerfield, mass, reportedly one of the first town raided by philip. they still have the door of a house philips troops broke into so to steal the woman inside. the door is in their museum. very fascinating, how echos of the war still reverberate up and down the ct river valley. thank you, James George and Angus Freathy for giving life to this story which we Americans should really know more about.
