Too much describing of a serial rapist's terrorizi

I only made it through 7.5 chapters. I thought a "fish out of water" story about a woman stumbling into a skip tracer/bounty hunter profession sounded like it would be pretty good.

I was unprepared for about 20% of the story to be about a serial rapist, who "everyone (neighborhood, manager, police) knows does this " terrorizing the young woman protagonist.

We see a description of the intention of the attempted rape of the young woman in the middle of a gym by a powerful male pro athlete while a group of his "yes men" "hangers on" sat and silently watched (and this man was NOT the bounty she was pursuing).. It only became an attempted rape when the progression was stopped by a hail of bullets flying thru the window, giving her a chance to escape.

After that I got to listen to repeated description of the mental terrorizing of her by the man (showing up at her apartment door in the middle of the night, yelling to her demanding she let him in, repeatedly calling on the phone, etc.) who seemed to believe that because he had "chosen" her it was his right to "have her" regardless of how she felt about it and he reminded her of it frequently.

Not my kind of story! Find myself amazed that there are 20+ novels in the series... Wish I could return this one for credit. Maybe the remaining ones are better, but I doubt I will ever know.

I enjoyed this. I am a big "enjoyer" of puns (just so you know, bad puns are how eye-roll...lol).

It was entertaining and I will definitely listen to it again!

Finished it and then started it over to see what I had missed... especially liked thought of punishment for the Fox Executives that cancelled "Firefly"... several laugh out loud moments...

Like the P. D. Q. Bach of Literature...

I loved this book. I like science fiction, especially the time travel genre. This was like time travel turned on its ear. I like puns, twist and turns, etc. I have listened to it over and over and every time I pick up something I missed the time before. Incredibly entertaining.
