Historia
In 2007, a short blogpost by Gawker Media outed PayPal founder and billionaire investor Peter Thiel as gay. Thiel's sexuality had been known to close friends and family, but he didn't consider himself a public figure, and believed the information was private. This post would be the casus belli for a meticulously plotted conspiracy that would end nearly a decade later with a $140 million dollar judgment against Gawker and its bankruptcy. Only later would the world learn that Gawker's demise was not incidental - it had been masterminded by Thiel.

Conspiracy Unveiled: Ryan Holidays Masterstroke of Intrigue and Insight
Revisado: 03-31-24
“Conspiracy” by Ryan Holiday is nothing short of a literary thrill ride, a masterclass in narrative seduction that captures the reader from page one and refuses to let go. Holiday, with his usual flair for the dramatic and the insightful, weaves a tale so compelling it’s as if he’s the puppet master of real-world intrigue.
The book delves into the clandestine machinations behind the lawsuit of Hulk Hogan against Gawker Media, but oh, it’s about so much more than that. Holiday elevates what could have been a mundane legal spat into a riveting saga of power, betrayal, and, indeed, conspiracy. His storytelling prowess turns the complexities of a legal battle into an edge-of-your-seat thriller that’s more gripping than any work of fiction.
Holiday’s narrative is a dance, a delicate ballet of facts and analysis, maintaining a pace that’s both intellectually satisfying and wildly entertaining. He has a knack for making the esoteric accessible, turning the potentially dry and cumbersome into something palatable, even delightful. The book is peppered with philosophical musings and historical parallels that enrich the narrative, providing depth and context to the scandalous affair.
“Conspiracy” is not merely a recounting of events; it’s an exploration of the human psyche, a study in ambition, strategy, and the lengths to which individuals will go to achieve their ends. Holiday’s prose is crisp, his insights sharp, and his wit ever-present, making this book not just a recount of a legal battle, but a commentary on the nature of power itself.
In a literary landscape often cluttered with banality and predictability, “Conspiracy” stands out as a beacon of intrigue and intelligence. Ryan Holiday has crafted a work that is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining, a rare gem that enlightens as much as it captivates. This is not just a book to be read; it’s an experience to be savored, a journey into the heart of a modern power struggle that resonates with the machinations of ages past. In “Conspiracy,” Holiday has not just told a story; he has defined a genre.

Unbelievable story that inaccurately rewrites political history
Revisado: 05-25-23
I’m a big fan of Michael Connelly’s writing, particularly the Lincoln lawyer series. He’s great at writing courtroom, dialogue, and describing trial strategy. his stories are generally engaging and keep you guessing. Sadly, this book was the exception.
Without giving away any specific spoilers, there’s a decision is made by the main character that completely unbelievable when after being given a choice to remain out on bail and extend his trial date, or go back to jail and have a quicker trial, the Lincoln Lawyer inexplicably opts to go back to jail where his life is in grave danger, and it is much more difficult to prepare for his upcoming trial.
Despite the author trying, there’s no rational explanation for anyone to make this decision.
On top of that, the author delves into the political and inaccurately rewrites the early days of the Covid pandemic, to cast shade on then President Trump by accusing him of not taking the pandemic seriously, and being slow to react. In reality Democrats were busy impeaching Trump and calling him a xenophobic for shutting down travel very early in the Pandemic. The author also throws shade at Fox News, but perhaps if he had watched some Fox News, he would know that, despite being distracted by a pointless impeachment proceeding President Trump was an early warner of the coronavirus, and took unprecedented steps to stop it, including restricting, travel from Asian countries very early on. This decision was met with ridicule and accusations of xenophobia from the political left who were the actual culprits of underestimating the virus in the early days of the pandemic.
The author’s clumsy attempt to revise political history has nothing to do with the actual story, and it’s just a distraction that helps to ruin the experience of this book.

Historia
When it comes to climate change, the media, politicians, and other prominent voices have declared that "the science is settled." In reality, the long game of telephone from research to reports to the popular media is corrupted by misunderstanding and misinformation. Core questions - about the way the climate is responding to our influence, and what the impacts will be - remain largely unanswered. The climate is changing, but the why and how aren't as clear as you've probably been led to believe.

You can learn everything you can about how to make women want you and still fail to master the inner game of being a man who naturally attracts women. Some guys even study all kinds of seduction secrets on attracting women, yet they only end up in terrible relationships with low-quality women. Most guys simply don't understand how women think. If you asked the average guy what women want, he may say things like confidence, money, or ridiculous good looks, but all of these things are just the tip of the iceberg.
