I chose this book because I've read Hugh Howey before and loved his Silo series. This, by contrast, felt like it was meant for a much younger audience. That is fine by itself, but definitely not what I was looking for as a mid-thirties reader.

Some of the references to "boy brain" and the unimaginative structure of schooling, travel, and daily life in an otherwise futuristic setting had my rolling my eyes on occasion. Ditto for the alternative (and kid-friendly) expletives like "flank you." The story seems like it was lifted out of modern life and placed in a futuristic setting, while making the smallest changes to the vocabulary to sell it as a space novel.

This podcast is fun to listen to! I love the banter which is free-flowing and honest. When the Mariners are losing, they stay loyal and hurt with the rest of us. When the Mariners win they are unapologetically happy and enthusiastic fans. They've had some guests on their shows which makes for good entertainment and variety and the core crew are solid and feel like a big extended family. The vintage commercials are a nice touch!

I wish the sound quality was a little better sometimes, but as a new podcast I would guess that they can figure some ways to improve.

I've been listening to for about 5 weeks and, as much as I wanted to like this podcast, I just don't.

When the Mariners were losing Ty and Colby liked to wallow in their disappointment about how poorly the team was performing (don't we all) but since the Mariners have begun to turn things around they still show almost no support for the team. They spend way too much time talking about potential trades with a tone of fanatical fantasy baseball experts, or maybe a couple of has-beens or never were's, while insisting that the Mariners still aren't worth getting excited about and that every player sucks. Any victory is a product of how bad the other team performed and doesn't reflect positively on the M's.

As a point of annoyance, Colby's microphone has never worked properly so you basically catch 70% of what he says.

The only positive I can say about this podcasts is the frequency with which it produces its episodes. But that quantity does not make up for the poor quality in my eyes.

This incredible story kept me interested and wanting more! I always enjoy a story that follows several vital characters with different perspectives and intertwining accounts of the same events. The author uses several different mechanisms to add dimension to the story and none of them felt boring or wasteful. Little bits of information were added at just the right time to deepen the plot and the outcome was rather unpredictable. The delivery of the narrator improved the story further as her delivery was incredible.
