Boring story. Not up to his usual standard. Very out dated story too, with many excerpts from (some long gone) British newspapers and magazines. Narrator does not have enough range for many characters.

Massive disappointment after his last few books. Very hard to get into. Can’t see past the ridiculous framing or the near future. The author has bought into every stupid theory going around. Preachy about abortion. Couldn’t finish. Avoid

Talented voice artist and very easy to listen to.
Any additional comments?
There is terrible music all through the performance. I assume it is between chapters. It is distracting, detracts from the performance and ruins it. It is also far too loud for the voice of Eli Wallach to be heard clearly. There should be a warning that there is music introduced to the book.

Avoid like the plague

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The performance has long annoying interludes of music. The story is a classic and the reading is very good but the music is too long and too annoying to tolerate.

The reading performance and the story.
How could the performance have been better?
Remove the interlude music.
