Historia
Kit Pelham is a professional fan, interviewer, host of the podcast The First Cult is the Deepest, and occasional obituary writer. Except this time the obituary is for her friend, maverick podcaster Wolf Tyler, who is murdered in his shed during a live broadcast, moments before revealing a huge secret about the cult TV show Vixens from the Void. Kit and her group of friends and fellow superfans soon realise Wolf had discovered something about the disappearance of Lily Sparkes, an extra on Vixens from the Void, back in 1986. And it was a secret worth killing for.

My Inner Geek Was Thrilled!
Revisado: 04-21-25
Because this review is anonymous, I can admit to being a total sci-fi geek and binge watcher of most vintage sci-fi TV shows. I found this book hysterical! It has colorful characters, outrageous situations, and a surprise behind every corner. None of that would be possible without the amazing vocal skills of Imogen Church. She rocked this book! There was never confusion as to which of the many characters were speaking. A wacky who done it thrill ride!

Appropriately Wonderful Covid Escape!
Revisado: 06-27-20
I started this book alone with my ear buds. After the first hour I decided it should be a family listen. Previously we had only done that on road trips, but suddenly it was everyone’s addiction. (It willingly got a 15 year old to walk away from his computer!...Miracle!)....The story and characters led us on a journey while being quarantined. For two weeks we were like families of old huddled around the radio after dinner. Reviews tend to pick on every detail they find lacking. I think this book is more about the journey and spirit of good people getting through crazy circumstances. ...sound familiar?
I wish there was a second book.

I just want a taste of you. Or a touch. My fantasies about you plague my every waking hour. My only comfort is imagining that similar fantasies might obsess you too. When young librarian Gwendolynne Price starts finding increasingly erotic love notes to her in the suggestion box at work, she finds them both shocking and liberating. But who is her mystery admirer and how long will he be content to just admire her from afar...?

Warning "TOTAL BLUSHFEST' Hotter than hot!
Revisado: 05-04-13
Would you listen to In Too Deep again? Why?
Absolutely YES! The combination of Da Costa's intriguing, romantic ,character of Gwendolyn and the narration of Imogen Church is inspired......and scorchingly SEXY! It overwhelms from the second you press play.
What was one of the most memorable moments of In Too Deep?
Gwen's reading of "the Letter" to the Professor ...."Oh my...."
What does Imogen Church bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her voice in the mind of Gwendolyn is a sultry purr. You feel the silence of the library, the whispers of voices, the clicking of high heels on stone steps. In the quiet of the library she turns up the heat to a constant burn. This has to be one of the sexiest books I have ever listened to. Her voice transports you and never disappoints ! The second I finished this book I looked for more from the narrator and author.....as soon as I cooled off!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
I'm not really sure you could make a film of this book....Not a mainstream one anyway......Well.......maybe in France.
How about: In Too Deep "EROTICALLY BRILLIANT"
Any additional comments?
With all the pseudo sexy FSOGish books it seems every publisher is racing to the shelves Erotica is definitely the new black. In Too Deep is one of my favorite of this genre so far. No copycat here! It is an original romantic story with witty, sexy, intelligent, entertaining characters who sizzle through the amazing velvet voice of Imogen Church.

Love it! Wit, Sarcasm, Adventure, Mystery & Travel
Revisado: 05-04-13
If you could sum up Up Country in three words, what would they be?
Creditworthy? BIG TIME!
What other book might you compare Up Country to and why?
I would compare it to The Year of Living Dangerously 1978 novel or 1982 movie with a ton of wit and snark thrown in!
Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Scott Brick is a very talented narrator . Through his portrayal of all the characters it became almost impossible to realize at the end of the journey that one man was voicing them all. If this were theater ,I would give Mr Brick a standing ovation.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.....It accompanied me on what seemed to be the shortest cross country road trip ever. I am a Nelson Demille fan and usually enjoy his books. But this one is by far my favorite. It transports you to another place and excitingly entwines you in the adventure at hand. I have never visited Vietnam ,but I felt like I'd spent weeks there. I don't know how he did it but the sites, sounds, smells, even the flavors of the food seems to jump off the page along with a heavy dose of wit and sarcasm .
Any additional comments?
Main Character Paul Brenner ....witty, rough edged, sarcastic, capable, adventurous, forthright. I'm not sure this isn't a romance... because I'm in love!
