Never would have guessed I would love this!

The story was well written and I absolutely fell in love with all the characters! I listened to the entire series in a few days I was so hooked. The narrator does an amazing job. As to be expected there are a few minor editing errors (duplicate phrases or an obvious snippet added with the wrong voice) but not anything major enough to pull away from the overall story.

Virtual voice is terrible

The story was good and the only reason I was able to finish. The virtual voice narration is awful and I won’t be listening to any others with this. No inflection no distinction between characters no pauses between characters it made it difficult to follow the story at times. Complete fail

‘edited’ Great Story- I still want more

I am a huge fan of this series. They are my go to books (I have listened to them all at least 10 times). The narrator is amazing at bringing the characters to life.

That said I was counting down the days for this release as Ilium and Audon are two of my favorite characters. I was pleased to learn about their pasts (unlike other reviews I found the intermixing of past and present flowed well). I think to understand you need the context of their childhood and what happened to them.

I disagree with others I felt their was chemistry and I wanted more of their relationship. It’s seems to end in the middle… most books in this series allow you to see the relationship grow, strengthen, and settle. I feel like we see this arc in their friendship but barely glimpse the start of their romantic story. The last scene in the book is what occurs at the midpoint in her other stories. I only hope that #15 will give us more of their story. I am glad she brought these two together because it’s a relationship that fits for the two of them. I do wish she hadn’t avoided the normal passion that exists in all the other stories in this series. Maybe other readers will appreciate her avoiding but to me it just left the story missing what I have come to expect from such a great author.

After multiple listens this has become one of my favorites in this series. In 2022 I am appalled by the number of readers that ‘claim’ they are going to stop reading her books because she wrote a M/M romance. Get over yourself and just don’t listen/read this book… we all know you will continue to read the others it’s just a scare tactic to get your way. I don’t read M/M romance normally so I did not know what to expect but I appreciate the Recognition that their is more in the world the cis-gendered heterosexual people.
