Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Revisado: 09-25-24
I have listened to this series many times. I think that the narrative style along with the talented narrator make it calming but not boring. I listen to it actively, but it's nice to listen to Ray tell me a story sorta passively while I'm getting things done.
the story is great. it stays in the PG-13 realm, which I appreciate in a story with this level of character depth. usually in sci-fi, depth goes along with some very adult themes. the only thing that's adult is a bit of profanity.

so many ideas. futuristic. wasn't too dark and has a little hope and light. the back and forth between the factions of humanity are interesting and thought provoking. it reminded me of beneath the wheel by Hesse; lots of descriptions shoehorned into a plot. I wish there were a few books after this one to explore this universe of Sterling s. well written, the campy is minimal and appropriate for hard scifi.

In High Earth, digital entertainment is everything. Shows. Virtual worlds. Simulations - there’s something for everybody in a city where working for a living has been rendered obsolete by technological advancements. Even a short walk outside to visit with others is no longer necessary. Just load into the network and you can be with anyone, anywhere. For Asher Reinhart, nothing compares to Ignis; a live reality show that pushes human beings to their very extremes.

I liked the book. it had a good pace. parts of it were derivative, but as the story unfolds it becomes clear how interesting and unique some of the key elements of the story are. I think that the unique elements had to be proped up by a bit of divisiveness.

Rock god. Justice fighter. Rabble-rouser. Ivy Leaguer. An American renegade and fearless truth teller. Rage Against the Machine’s guitar virtuoso, Tom Morello, is many things; but perhaps, he himself, sums it up best: a one-man revolution. For the first time ever, hear Morello fuse the deeply personal with the political in a rapturous, badass, one-man show that skillfully balances soul-bearing stories with spellbinding guitar fury: Speaking Truth to Power Through Stories and Song by Tom Morello.

Historia
In what is considered one of Heinlein's most hair-raising, thought-provoking, and outrageous adventures, the master of modern science fiction tells the strange story of an even stranger world. It is 21st-century Luna, a harsh penal colony where a revolt is plotted between a bashful computer and a ragtag collection of maverick humans, a revolt that goes beautifully until the inevitable happens. But that's the problem with the inevitable: it always happens.

heinlein once said that this book, starship troopers, and stranger in a strange land are the trifecta of his philosophy. you should read all 3. there is no real continuity to speak of, but they are all really good.

tiny aliens evolving rapidly under massive gravity. PG rated. I really liked it. it was well narrated. the story was interesting. a fair amount of science. descriptions of aliens and their planet made me able to visualize it without getting lost in the weeds. I especially like the atmosphere that it created.

very good book. diverse subplots within the arch. though containing violence and sex, it is not gratuitous. minimal profanity. funny when it should be. human when it should be. it is dark at times, but not unbearably so. I like the ending as well.

Little to do with aliens or their worlds (im sad). lots of technically and logistically driven plot points (awesome). the characters feel naturally driven. sometimes in a book, the writer will have their characters do things against the characters nature to advance the plot. this book does not do that.
well written. light enough to listen to in the car, even though there is a lot of technical things going on (programming, scheduling, etc.) it doesn't override the flow of the narrative.

Historia
In the three years since former fleet officer Rob Geary and former marine Mele Darcy led improvised forces to repel attacks on the newly settled world of Glenlyon, tensions have only gotten worse. When one of Glenlyon's warships is blown apart trying to break the blockade that has isolated the world from the rest of human-colonized space, only the destroyer Saber remains to defend it from another attack. Geary's decision to take Saber to the nearby star Kosatka to safeguard a diplomatic mission is a risky interpretation of his orders, to say the least.

good space opera.
Revisado: 01-28-19
good story. it could have taken place on ships in the 1700s. that's not a bad thing. one thing that I was looking for that I don't often find is a storyline that is at least partially driven by the environment. in this book, you could replace the word 'planet' with the word 'island' and the word 'space' with the word 'sea'. there are some passive descriptions about space, which I appreciated, but there is no consequence of space that would not be a similar consequence sailing across oceans.
SO IN CONCLUSION, good book, if you're not bored with a Shakespearean plot, but you're bored of it taking place on earth, this is a good series to pass the time. lots of military action. not heavy on the sexy. could be on scifi channel.

Wheaton's version is better than Spielberg's.
Revisado: 01-11-19
well written with appropriate attention to detail. the references are deeply entrenched in gaming lore... the movie was really light in this category, maybe because licensing all of the references would be tremendously challenging. i can't imagine anyone better to narrate this than Will Wheaton. all around, one of my favorite audibles. I've listened to it fully 6 or more times now.
