Historia
When Queenie Hennessy discovers that Harold Fry is walking the length of England to save her, and all she has to do is wait, she is shocked. Her note had explained she was dying. How can she wait? A new volunteer at the hospice suggests that Queenie should write again; only this time she must tell Harold everything. In confessing to secrets she has hidden for 20 years, she will find atonement for the past. As the volunteer points out, ‘Even though you’ve done your travelling, you’re starting a new journey, too.’

A mellow story with a wonderful ending!

Do listen all to the end. The ending makes the book in my opinion. A good listen!

What an ending
Revisado: 06-02-17
This book sums up everything in a brilliant way. I got everything I ever wanted to know about the dear characters from the earlier books.
Lois Lowry is a master at telling stories, describing people and conducting a philosophy of life itself. Thank you Lois!

Historia
January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb.... As Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends - and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is.

I love, love, loved this book!
The start was a bit strange and felt a bit "oh my, this was very "proper" English and a bit dull..."
But as you listen for a while the book becomes more and more engaging. The characters are dear to me now and I want to visit Gernsey!
