I loved this! The hunters and reapers, two sides of the same coin, the tension and personalities were wonderful! The narrator did a wonderful job bringing these intriguing characters to life.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Fresh and Fun!
Revisado: 04-08-19
This was great! A plot line I’ve never read before is always a ton of fun for me, and I thought it and the characters, as well as the main story, all flowed together really well. I’m assuming there will be more, as they still haven’t figured out the miracle, and there’s that ‘thing’ left over at the very end. I found it intriguing enough, but figuring out that Zachary Quintos was narrating just put it over the top for me.
If you like a sci-fi, mysteries, and don’t mind harsh language, I definitely recommend this.

Fantastic!
Revisado: 02-05-19
I freaking LOVED this!! The genre is right up my alley to begin with, and with the full cast of narrators, I was just blown away. The story and explanation of some of the psychology intrigued me, the twists kept me guessing. I found the characters interesting, and I grew attached to some of them. I'm glad this was an Audible, that way I could keep listening as I walked around checking that everything was locked (and looking over my shoulder!) lol.
They way it was ended definitely left room for a sequel, and I would absolutely LOVE it that were to happen.

I'm not really sure what to say here that hasn't already been said in other reviews! I loved this book, actually a bit more than the one before. The reappearance of a certain group of characters made me cheer! Can't wait to delve into the next!

Unique and Awesome!
Revisado: 01-23-19
I first found this book through Reader Coin, only to discover that it was only a teaser, and not the full book. GASP! I was already hooked into this rather unique story, and immediatly rushed over to Audible to snag it. Great decision!
I've never read anything quite like this, and this author has done a wonderful job of world building and making the reader feel like they're trapped in the underground with the characters. The aliens were really different from any I've come across before, and I absolutely loved the way I got entrenched in their struggles. Been a while since that happened!
I'm hoping there will be a follow-up; the story is nicely ended, and could stand on its own, but I'm dying to find out more!

I listened to the Audible of this, and uuuuuugh I want more! I mean, the story was complete in itself, but I could have kept on reading this for much longer and not gotten tired of it! I loved the new view on Medusa's curse, thought the whole story was just wonderful.
The narrator did a wonderful job, as well!

Love it!
Revisado: 09-20-18
Holy Moley this was awesome! Forget Mr. and Mrs. Smith, y’all, these two are WAY more entertaining! I loved how the apocalypse worked as a far better therapist than the one who felt rather annoying (though we admittedly aren’t properly introduced to her haha). I didn’t really get sad at some of the scenes I would’ve thought I would have, but that last one got me!
I listened to the narration of this, and simply loved the snark of the reader’s voice; she got perfectly with the main characters.
The only drawback was the it felt a tad jerky in some places, and occasionally words were repeated too often in a sentence. Not anything huge, but something that I tend to take notice of.
If you like snarky humor and zombies, this is for you.

Awesome!
Revisado: 09-04-18
I was approached by this author to check out the third book in this series. While he offered the first two as well, I like to support authors when I am able, and have become more dependent on Audio to get my book fix. So, I bought this for myself on a gamble that I'd like it. And do you know what? I DID!
This was great! While not completely action-packed (there were moments of slower-paced life, which I fully enjoy in a book), it was still thrilling and kept me hooked throughout. I don't know if it's due to how it was written, or if it's just the prepper wannabe in me, but the passages of stocking up and making lists of things did NOT bore me in the slightest; rather, it captivated my attention. Great storytelling, and great characters. I also would like it known that I offer myself up if Bartos needs someone to keep the home fires burning... Just sayin' lol!
Also, I feel like there may be zombies, or a Captain Trips type twist coming?? I ACCEPT.
The narrator did a great job, as well, really bringing the story to life. On occasion it felt he was a little unfamiliar with the passage he was reading, but overall it was excellent on all counts.

Erm...
Revisado: 08-16-18
I don't like leaving negative reviews, I really don't. The only reason that I do is because I'd feel dishonest if I only give my good opinion and pretend I love everything. Unfortunately, this is one of those hard reviews to write.
It just. . . I couldn't make myself like it. The writing felt very amateurish, the grammatical errors and repeated words made it seem like perhaps it was a very young person who wrote it. That was really my biggest issue, though there were others. A good editor could probably clean this up and make it a lot better.
The characters just didn't feel real or relateable, with the exception of the female professor (I'm blank on her name, sorry). After the THING happens to her, I really felt for her, but she was the only one.
The narration did NOT help this. The characters all sounded like Mr. Movie Phone, cartoon villains, or cartoon characters in general. However, if this guy ever throws his hat into the animation voice-over game, he could make BANK!
Also, the reason I bought this in the first place is because I somehow already had book 2, and simply cannot start in the middle. And now I'm gonna listen to the second because I HAVE to, and I feel like I should give it a chance and see if it gets better.
