I will be going back to read this book again!

I looked forward to learning about how people overpower their addictions. I know people who have struggled with various types of them. I thought by reading it I could be more understanding of what they go through. What I learned is we are all works of progress. There are many things within the book that everyone can find benficial. The author did an excellent job of keeping things easy to understand and relateable, whether you are conquering an addiction or supporting one who is trying to overcome it. The common theme we all can connect to here, is pursuing true happiness. I appreciated the upbeat, non-preachy demeanor, of the words and narration. I enjoyed the author's thoughts on spirituality, and that there is no one size fits all recovery. But I hope people will be more understanding the disease. The author explains the framework established that has helped guide thousands to achieve a substance free life. The power is within, and Rick's perspective of his journey may provide the encouragement needed to begin one's own journey. I will be re-reading this book for the many positive thoughts and nuggets of motivating information! Awesome book, both audible and hardcover!

I loved the backstory about the inspiration for the book. The reader is taken to magnificent places, and is witness to true love. A chance encounter that changed their lives forever.

Literary example of Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity

This is the motto emblazoned on the shield of the FBI. A description of their symbol is as follows: The stripes symbolize the values of the FBI; the red stripes stand for courage, valor, and strength, while the white ones represent light, cleanliness, and truth. Below the wreath and shield is a scroll bearing the words "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity".
As I listened to Andrew McCabe's insightful narrative of his career as an FBI Agent, and the events that led to his termination the day before his retirement, I couldn't help but think of the FBI motto. McCabe explains his career in the FBI, with candor and ease that any listener would understand. Here is a man who spent decades fighting terrorists , Russian gangs, and other threats to Americans. He gives the listener/reader insight into the thorough testing it takes to become an agent, including psychological exams, and lie detector testing. His was an unblemished career, with an earned retirement on the horizon. But when he crossed a potentially compromised President with "valor and truth", his retirement was snatched away in an instant. An accusation of leaking to the press, and not being forthright about it was reason enough to destroy a lifetime of service to America. Why? McCabe presents his career, life and experience to the public. He expresses his assessment of the President in a way that he would assess anyone, as an agent. Could the President could face the same testiing and scrutiny of an FBI agent, and pass? McCabe has written a relevant read, that will someday show who was on the wrong side of history, and it is not the FBI.

not everyone may fit exactly into the Male descriptions in the book, but there is plenty of helpful information here. And, I believe the author genuinely wants to help the reader succeed.

encompassed in a Male dominated career, and with spending years helping family and friends, I was perplexed on how to start dating. I had a few relationships years before, that also left me puzzled with how to understand men when dating. I needed this book. it may be blunt at times. But the author is giving it to the reader straight. it covers a lot in a small amount of reading time, but there are plenty of support tools to further the intellectual given! Great book!

Online dating still a viable option

while many of the tips were familiar, I did enjoy hearing a man's perspective of dating online over 50. Having been previously frustrated with dating sites, the author was able to provide logical validation for trying again. The author was able to tell about his own experiences, and offer ways to improve dating success. That success being finding a loving, lasting, relationship. This book is not for those who are merely interested in casual dating and sex. Apparently there are people still seeking a best friend and lover to marry.

Having listened to a few of Bruce's books already, I am starting to him Coach! I really appreciate his frankness, and how he explains the common mistakes that are made. Too many times, women give too much too soon, to people who haven't earned it. Bruce teaches women to have standards and boundaries, in order to attract men who truly want a relationship.

It's like getting the inside scoop!

If you have ever been the girl in the room who feels like she is leftover mashed potatoes in a room full of prime rib and dessert, this book may teach you how to get noticed. Bruce is like the big brother or guy friend who sees you struggling. He gives you the man's perspective of what he notices, first and why. I had to be honest with myself and realize there I things I can do, to get the right attention with the right man,, rather than just waiting and hoping. Nice audio version that covers plenty of ground.

This is a very straight forward book. I had more than a few aha moments. I felt like the author genuinely wanted to help readers succeed in getting the relationship they want, without being condescending. This coach wants women and men to win in lasting love. Easy read, and great narration.

It's scary out there, this book may help

I thought Marlene did a great job of writing and narrating this book. She displays the warmth and empathy of a friend, that you feel you could have coffee with, yet shows her expertise as a life coach. Great information. Dating advice without being condescending. She even shares some her own experiences, so others can avoid the most negative situations.
