Historia
I’d always dreamed of my wedding day. But not like this. Not looking into the eyes of the man who betrayed me. But when my nephew’s guardianship is contested, I decide I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him in Rose Hill. Even if it means marrying the enemy. Rhys Dupris. A man who is secretive, broody, and completely infuriating. A man whose work takes him away for weeks on end and brings him back covered in mysterious bruises—ones he won’t talk about. In fact, we barely talk at all.

Best of the Rose Hill series

I am not a pro wrestling fan and has I known this was about a wrestler I might have skipped it. Glad I didn’t. I really liked the depth of the characters - Tabby and Rhys are really well drawn out and I like their dynamic and interactions. I also like the emotional depth of the story. The narrators were great.

Historia
The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

I don’t know who talks or acts this way or what pregnancy classes people go to, but none of this is realistic at all. This is just a very dumb book.

A heart-wrenching new novel from best-selling author Rebecca Yarros that examines the risks we take for love, the scars too deep to heal, and the endings we can't bring ourselves to see coming.

Excellent!
Revisado: 03-12-25
This was a touch sappy - particularly the initial telling of Scarlett and Jameson’s love story. I also found myself annoyed by Georgia and her stubbornness. But that twist at the end and how it all came together was heart wrenching. Well done!

Loved it… mostly
Revisado: 03-02-25
Honor was a bit of a doormat and lacked confidence but I enjoyed how she became more sure of herself and stopped accepting less than she deserved. I just wish she could have told off Brogan and her so called best friend properly.

Cute story
Revisado: 03-01-25
I liked the story but I do not like Amy Rubinate as a narrator. She is way too robotic sounding and she isn’t great at doing different voices.

I’m the face of professional bull riding—the golden boy. Or at least I was, until it all blew up in my face. Now my agent says I have to clean up my image, so I’m stuck with his ball-busting daughter for the rest of the season as my “full-time supervision.”

This was a quick read but I didn’t love it
Revisado: 02-26-25
The plot was fine but I am just not into rodeos and just wasn’t into the male main character - but I did love Sebastian York’s voice. The plot seemed a but contrived. But it kept me entertained.

Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

After her father loses the family fortune in an insider-trading scheme, single mom Parker Welles is faced with some hard decisions. First order of business: go to Gideon's Cove, Maine, to sell the only thing she now owns-a decrepit house in need of some serious flipping. When her father's wingman, James Cahill, asks to go with her, she's not thrilled . . . even if he is fairly gorgeous and knows his way around a toolbox.

My least favorite of the series
Revisado: 02-18-25
Parker here seemed way snootier than Parker of book 2. I didn’t like how rude she was to James, calling him Thing 1 to his face. I also found the interjections from the Holy Rollers to be inauthentic. Maybe they would have been better in print but the character voices were annoying and jarring. I did like how the story progressed however. I greatly prefer Xe Sands as narrator. The characters from books 1 and 2 didn’t quite seem authentic with Justine Eyre’s delivery. I thought Justine’s delivery was fine for this snobby version of Parker but it didn’t work with the salt of the earth characters from the other books.

Historia
Lucy Lang isn't looking for fireworks. She's looking for a nice, decent man. Someone who'll mow the lawn, flip chicken on the barbecue, teach their future children to play soccer. But most important: someone who won't inspire the slightest stirring in her heart - or anywhere else. A young widow, Lucy can't risk that kind of loss again. But sharing her life with a cat named Fat Mikey and the Black Widows at the family bakery isn't enough either.

Loved this one!!
Revisado: 02-13-25
I love women’s fiction even more than romance and this book really straddled the line for me. Yes it is a romance but it also is much deeper than the average romance. The only other book by Christina Lauren that I have read was the Unhoneymooners and that was just ok. I liked the depth of the character development in this book and the past and present timeline to understand the rupture between Macy and Elliot.
