Historia
Only mutual communication can forge an alliance with the planet's sentient species and prove that mammals are more than tools. Forced to land on a planet they aren't prepared for, human colonists rely on their limited resources to survive. The planet provides a lush but inexplicable landscape—trees offer edible, addictive fruit one day and poison the next, while the ruins of an alien race are found entwined in the roots of a strange plant. Conflicts between generations arise as they struggle to understand one another and grapple with an unknowable alien intellect.

Very Imaginative!
Revisado: 03-10-18
I really enjoyed this book because it was very imaginative and unpredictable. I liked the progression between generations of people. What I also thought was great was the use of science throughout the story.

Historia
Jonathan is a Jewish college student searching Europe for the one person he believes can explain his roots. Alex, a lover of all things American and unsurpassed butcher of the English language, is his lovable Ukrainian guide. On their quixotic quest, the two young men look for Augustine, a woman who might have saved Jonathan's grandfather from the Nazis. As past and present merge, hysterically funny moments collide with great tragedy, and an unforgettable story of one family's extraordinary history unfolds.

Depends on What Amuses You...
Revisado: 11-30-14
What would have made Everything Is Illuminated better?
If the writer had built the story more in the beginning, it would have held my interest more.
What could Jonathan Safran Foer have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Sometimes, the humor in this book is a bit crude and that doesn't appeal to me. If those kinds of jokes would have been left out, I would have enjoyed the book more. As it was written, I had an automatic reflex to turn it off when those jokes started happening.
What about Jeff Woodman and Scott Shina ’s performance did you like?
I think that the vocal performances were very good. Nice portrayal of foreign accents.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I think if I had been able to stick with it past the first few chapters, I might have liked it. As it was, I was just too turned off by the bad jokes to continue with it.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Well Researched History
Revisado: 07-11-14
Would you consider the audio edition of 11-22-63 to be better than the print version?
I haven't looked at the print version. The book is long though. I think the audio version is easier to make it through
What other book might you compare 11-22-63 to and why?
I would compare it to The Man in the High Castle which is another historical fiction book. The Man in the High Castle takes place in an alternate history of World War II. I think the Stephen King book is a lot better though because the characters are easier to identify with.
What about Craig Wasson’s performance did you like?
Craig Wasson did a really great job of portraying emotion and giving authentic voices to each character.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Historical Fiction
Any additional comments?
I think this book was impressively researched. It was very thought provoking. There was some violence in it but it was well connected to the story.
