Historia
I ate six seeds. Now I owe six months of debt to a dangerously sexy Fae hitman. I'd had everything a dryad could want - a job, an apartment, and a scandalous human boyfriend - until I stole the wrong fruit from the wrong Fae. Dragged into the Seelie underworld of deception and lies, I do anything he commands: steal, spy, even fight as we hunt down a notorious Fae fugitive. Not exactly the fun I was looking for, despite the intense attraction between us.

love this series
Revisado: 10-28-24
I love this series so I was initially rather disappointed when I couldn't listen to it because the narrator was just a little too...not right. then I figured out that speeding the narration made her sound normal and bam! audiobook is back in business!

Historia
Nineteen-year-old Katrina van Tassel knows she’s a disappointment to her parents, for more reasons than one. But as the only daughter of the most prominent family in Sleepy Hollow, she never imagined that she would be chosen as the next sacrifice. Or that in her attempt to escape, she would instead come face to face with the Horseman himself.

What can I say?
Revisado: 10-24-24
This book is very hard to come to terms with. To be fair, the story was good and everything up to about the final fourth? of the book was an interesting twist on the Legend of Sleepy Hallow, at least what little I know of the actual tale. As I don't know the actual story written by Irving, I can't say how far and away this story was and it did feel more like a "what if" kind of scenario, but that seems to be what's popular and as long as it's well written I find nothing wrong with that.
I did have to listen to the audio book at either 1.2x or 1.5x though because the narrator was a little slow at normal speed, but that could easily be because it wasn't paced right during the publication, or I just have taken a liking for slightly faster narrations. Either way, that was also good.
The only real thing I can say I didn't like about this book (and why I can't give the story that final star) is because it was just slightly repetitive with character's inner monologues (kind of like both were written and the author forgot to go back and choose one though it didn't really break with the flow so it wasn't horrible) and the fact that the final "baddie", to keep from spoiling everything, was an all encompassing primordial being that really shouldn't have been a "bad guy" to begin with. I feel a different being could have been invoked in that position and it would have made more sense and made me less incensed.
But, all's well that ends well and all that so take a listen to this and make up your own opinion.

So happy!
Revisado: 10-22-24
I, like probably everyone in my generation, have already read this book. It is amazing how much I have forgotten about it, but I have to say that being able to listen to it with Stephen Fry reading it has been so freaking awesome. So thankful that we were allowed to get this eventually. So, so happy!

Historia
I met fallen angel princes; I met a Savage Duke; I met a Cheshire Cat. And remember - how could you possibly forget - I'm the fabled Alice from the prophecy. Just a twisted, dark version of the girl in Lewis Carroll's old books. Except in those books, there was a happy ending. In those books, Alice wasn't dating nine very different, very beautiful men. But now that I've met the King of Hearts and the Mad Hatter, I'm not sure who the real bad guys are.

Series is one of my favorites!
Revisado: 02-22-21
I had a couple problems with a few mispronounced words, but they’re easy to ignore, so it’s forgivable. Overall though, I soooo can’t wait for the third one to be released. This series keeps popping up in my head, demanding I listen to it again and again, but it’s just not complete without all three and I really want to marathon this series as soon as it does. It’s that good of an Alice in Wonderland rehash.

Historia
I'm Tamlir Kynthelig, mercenary. I lost my home, my family was slaughtered, and my kingdom was usurped. And then things really got bad. I saved King Mynogin and won the honor of a likely-fatal run through the Temple of Cocidius to gain him its treasure. Trust me when I say this isn't a change in my luck. Gathering the temple's eight artifacts has never been accomplished, and a thousand men have perished to its beasts and puzzles.

Good, but listen to it at 1.2x or 1.5x
Revisado: 06-20-20
The story itself is interesting enough to catch your attention and rpg worthy enough that you don't have to take it too seriously and still enjoy it overall. Read it for myself first which in itself was a feat, so when I found out there was an audiobook version of it I was happy because this read can take it out of you. HOWEVER! If you found yourself irritated with the stop and go flow of the narration, that you listen to it at 1.2x or faster? I love Soren Gray, he has a wonderful voice and I have looked for other books with him narrating them, but this book is a bit tough for me to listen to it at normal speed because he seemingly halts/pauses at practically every comma and period in the book at that speed. I have to wonder if listening to it at 1x is actually at .7x time or slower because it really is that bad unless you speed up the narration. If you can listen to it at normal speed, good for you, that is awesome and you can easily ignore me, but if you have faced what I have faced and agree with me, this is my suggestion if you haven't found it out for yourself.
Cheers and happy listening!

New town, new school. Same story. I'm Laura, I've spent most of my life crisscrossing the county yielding to the whims of my transient mother. We've never stayed in one place long enough to call it home, and I don't have any hope of that changing. I follow the rules; no drawing attention to myself, no friends, and especially, no boys.

Pretty good
Revisado: 03-11-20
This is an interesting meld of slice of life meets paranormal romance. It has a fair amount of drama, but no more than you'd expect from a mostly teenaged group of people dealing with high school, the learning of new abilities and exasperating (in so many senses of the word) parents. It was an easy read/listen and quite enjoyable on a lower key (aka not as action packed as I tend to gravitate towards). The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars for the narrator was simply my pet peeve of her mispronunciation of one of the main character's names. Other than that, a total worthwhile listen. Oh but be prepared for the food cravings, so many food cravings...

Historia
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

I am totally happy with the fact that Molly Harper has a new series that I did not know even existed until I started looking for more than her Jane Jameson books! I absolutely love the dual narrators, and I'm just in love with this series. I mean, seriously; bad day, go listen to a Molly Harper book! I'm so happy that this series continues that adage for me!

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

I had a coworker suggest this series to me, and I can't say how happy I am that it has an audiobook to go along with it! I mean, a whole series of this awesome heroine and I'm just so happy. Amanda Ronconi delivers such an awesome expression of Jane and seriously, this always makes me happy reading/listening to this book/series.
