Refreshing heroine, beautiful love story

This is a beautifully written story that transported me to mysterious woods, lonely sea shores, glittering caves, dark passages, vast oceans, through glowing portals, and in all the seen and unseen powers that come from discovering one’s magical heritage and abilities. The heroine in this book is refreshing. She is quiet, humble, and kind, but when her power is needed, she learns to deliver large and loud.
The love story that weaves itself throughout the book is a delightful slow burn. Having the perspective of both characters made me root for them even harder! The narrator did a great job with both perspectives. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Wonderful story

A wonderful story that makes you fall in love with Mary, Dickon, and Colin all over again. Their firsthand experience of WW I makes them grow in ways they never could imagine. You can tell the author took great care in telling each of their stories as accurately as if they really did live through “The Great War.” Be ready for all the emotions - elated joy, heartfelt pain, delicious amusement, and most of all, feeling the magic of the Secret Garden of Misselthwaite once more.

Amazing performance and story

I actually liked this book way better than the first. Prince Kai’s simple charm absolutely pales in comparison to Wolf’s depth and “bad boy” ferocity. Whew! You just fall in love with every character. Yes, even “Captain” Thorne. The twists and turns left me gasping. I would 100% read this book over and over again.
And can we can a shout out to the narrator?? Rebecca, you are amazing as always.

Don’t waste your time

I got this seeing it had 5 stars.... why?? I only got through the first 25 minutes and had to quit. The narrator is robotic and there’s no feeling behind the reading. I feel like I’m listening to Siri read a book. And it’s all just generic advise like “don’t yell at each other.” Literally nothing helpful and awful to listen to. I would recommend listening to any other book.

Fantastic performance, wonderful story

Recommend this series to anyone who loves a great fantasy adventure! This book in particular is the best of the series. I have gasped in shock, cheered with joy, curled up in a ball sobbing with sadness, and sighed in content while devouring this piece of art. Highly, highly recommend.

Fantastic story; great narrator

A surprisingly entertaining, witty, emotional, and twisting story. The banter between Hadrian and Royce plus their swashbuckling escapades and the many other colorful characters they meet along the way make for a great fantasy tale.

Great performance!

I loved the voice actors — very clear and easy to understand; they use appropriate emotion and sound effects. I thought the story was entertaining! Perfect young teen book. Although at the end there’s a “wow that escalated quickly....” situation, I enjoyed listening to most of it.
