Historia
From multiple New York Times best-selling author, neuroscientist, and "new atheist" Sam Harris, Waking Up is for the 30 percent of Americans who follow no religion, but who suspect that Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Rumi, and the other saints and sages of history could not have all been epileptics, schizophrenics, or frauds.

Thought provoking with transformational potential
Revisado: 08-03-22
This is a well thought out, researched and presented exploration of spiritualism. Sam Harris reads his work with insight and interest. On a number of occasions I needed to stop and give myself time to think about the chapter just read. Personally I like a book that can do this. I expect I will be giving this repeat listens as I continue to explore the landscape of this book.

Historia
Miracle and Wonder: Conversations with Paul Simon is part memoir, part investigation, and unlike any creative portrait you’ve ever heard before. Recorded over a series of 30 hours of conversation between Simon, Gladwell, and Gladwell’s oldest friend and co-writer, journalist and Broken Record podcast co-host Bruce Headlam, the conversation flows from Simon’s music, to his childhood in Queens, NY, to his frequent collaborators including Art Garfunkel and the nature of creativity itself.

Tenderness beneath the honesty.
Revisado: 01-01-22
This is a personal and insightful book which explores various elements of Paul Simon’s work. I have read many books about Paul Simon and this one is a must listen for anyone who is interested not just in Paul Simon but in music. The heart of the book rarely strays from music. Paul and Malcolm keep the conversations connected to composing and creating music and link this to Paul’s musical journey through life. It is full of tender moments of honesty and new live moments of performance from Paul.
The dynamic nature of this audiobook which flows between conversation, live performance, commentary of recorded performances and insightful and heartfelt questions and responses makes it a book that I will return to again and again. Thank you to all involved in making it.

Historia
Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn, but in a rapidly changing world, there's another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn. In our daily lives, too many of us favor the comfort of conviction over the discomfort of doubt. We listen to opinions that make us feel good, instead of ideas that make us think hard. We see disagreement as a threat to our egos, rather than an opportunity to learn.

Revisado: 07-03-21
This is a thought provoking and interesting book. Full of insightful, well researched and clearly presented arguments and perspectives. I would recommend it for anyone who is reflective, who likes to question the world around them and themselves in a quest to better understand both.
