Gripping story, brought to life my the narrator, Michael Sheen. I can’t imagine anyone else doing the story and characters such justice!

I'm not one to give up on a book - ever. But, I have a dozen books I haven't listened to yet, and when this one was about 35 minutes in, I thought I might actually give it a miss. I couldn't remember why I had decided to buy the book either, so I thought I'd have a quick look at a review. I only remember seeing "don't trust this book", resisted the temptation to look further, and gave it another go. Well, thank goodness I did. I won't say a word further about the story, but it was worth sticking with!

My favorite story in the world brought to life by the brilliant George Guidall! Start your Dark Tower journey with Stephen King’s The Gunslinger and you will be hooked.

All I can say is that I was disappointed.... that it had to end!
I listened to all 3 audio books one after the other while driving to work and back. This is the first book(s) that I wanted to listen to outside of my daily commute. I would sneak in a few minutes here and there at home, because I was desperate to know what happened next to Katniss, Peeta and Gale.
The plot is brilliant - a world in the future where the "Capitol" forces the 12 existing regions to give up 2 of their children, 1 boy 1 girl, every year to participate in the elaborate "Hunger Games". The children are forced to compete to the death in this vicious and depraved annual event held to remind the rebels of the Capitol’s power.
I loved every second - a great story and a wonderful narrator!
