Historia
Over the past three years, the notorious @GSElevator Twitter feed has offered a hilarious, shamelessly voyeuristic look into the real world of international finance. Hundreds of thousands followed the account, Goldman Sachs launched an internal investigation, and when the true identity of the man behind it all was revealed, it created a national media sensation - but that's only part of the story.

Great book, Consider not buying the audible one.
Revisado: 12-23-18
I love this book. The author is clearly good at presentation so his performance in narration is great. The problem is that parts are hard to conceptualize and there are chapters I need to re-visit. For this reason I will probably get a physical copy to make my life easier.
This has been a bit paradigm shifting for me especially the author's view on relationships. I'm trying out the 'E3D' method and I will probably keep it.
I will probably revisit once a year but I will need a hard copy. I had the same issue with David Allen's Getting Things Done. I learn a lot from audible books but some I feel are better in physical form.

Historia
Society, by statistical necessity, needs to focus on the majority. It needs to be built and designed for "the average". Society, by moral necessity, also needs to focus on the disadvantaged and disabled, helping those who cannot help themselves. But while the majority of society's resources, attention, and infrastructure is dedicated to average or below-average people, little-to-none of it is dedicated to the abnormally intelligent.

Lifechanging
Revisado: 08-16-18
I read and listen to a lot of books. This was paradigm shifting and life changing. I still don't know if I really have a high IQ but after listening to this book where I identified with the author throughout, I got tested at a website the author recommended. I don't know how accurate the website is but mine was up there.
With this new paradigm I have saved myself a considerable amount of time. I no longer feel obligated to fit in and do things that groups are doing. I was always a contrarian but I used to do things to try and fit in and now I do less of them. I now end conversations when I realize the other person is not grasping conceptually what I am telling them and that they are not going to grasp it.
The author is condescending and cynical and I love every minute of it. If you are afraid you will hate it like the other reviewers I would listen to the sample as I think that is a good representation of the tone of the whole book. I find the same type of tone in Nassim Taleb's writing although I will grant that Taleb's writing is more sophisticated and cognitive.

Historia
Scott Adams was one of the earliest public figures to predict Donald Trump’s election. The mainstream media regarded Trump as a lucky clown, but Adams - best known as “the guy who created Dilbert” - recognized a level of persuasion you only see once in a generation. We’re hardwired to respond to emotion, not reason, and Trump knew exactly which emotional buttons to push. The point isn’t whether Trump was right or wrong, good or bad. Adams goes beyond politics to look at persuasion tools that can work in any setting - the same ones Adams saw in Steve Jobs.

Found this Highly Informative
Revisado: 01-25-18
I bought this book after seeing Scott Adams in an interview. Before I started listening I saw some reviews and had buyer's remorse. Then I listened and I had the opposite of that (buyer's remorselessness?).
I do think the audio would be better if not narrated by Scott Adams, although there wasn't a whole lot I disagreed with and some of the points were probably controversial, so maybe that's the author's hypnotist training.
I didn't read his blog so I can't complain that he has successfully compiled his blog posts into an easy to follow along book. I don't mind.
I disagree with quite a lot of the critiques of this book. Some of the reviews are vitriolic and the reviewer complains of not liking another one of Scott Adam's books. Usually when I stumble across an author I despise, I tend to only read or listen to only one of their books, but that's me.
All in all, this helped dispel the myth that I still had in the back of my mind that most of the population were rational, logical humans. I kind of knew they weren't but this book has helped me internalize it better and I am now intending to further look into methods of persuasion.

My Favorite Modern Fiction Book
Revisado: 05-01-17
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's pace was perfect and I was on the edge of my seat. It is well narrated. It is rare that I listen to a book in such a short time.
The libertarian commentary might be off putting for some but I enjoyed it and at times it was implemented in a comical way.
I don't recall learning so much from a fictional book before. I learned some things about anatomy, speculation, mining companies, and found myself googling concepts I was unfamiliar with. It is the first time I encountered the term "Gamma Male".

Well worth the Audio version
Revisado: 08-18-15
Would you listen to Follow That Car! again? Why?
Yes. I really enjoyed the things the author learned from his passengers and find real practical value in those things.
What does Jimmy Failla bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This audio book has actors, sound effects, music, and felt to be of high production value. I don't know if someone is hard up for an actual "Audio-book" but if your hoping for something that sounds like the author or reader reading to you the whole time, I would pass on it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The advice from the old man that worked at carnivals will stick with me forever.
Any additional comments?
I listened to this in between rides while driving my cab. Very enjoyable and funny.

Historia
Risky Is the New Safe is a different kind of book for a different kind of thinking - a thought-provoking manifesto for risk takers. It will challenge you to think laterally, question premises, and be a contrarian. Disruptive technology, accelerating speed of change, and economic upheaval are changing the game. The same tired, old conventional thinking won’t get you to success today. Risky Is the New Safe will change the way you look at everything!

Revisado: 04-19-13
If you could sum up Risky Is the New Safe in three words, what would they be?
Creative, Inspiring, Informing
Any additional comments?
I read Randy Gage's book "Why you're Sick, Dumb, and Broke" and my life has never been quite the same. I was very happy to see this book available on Audible.Randy Gage uses the outline of a Rock Opera in keeping with the concept of a changing world where disruptive technology will alter the way we do things. I was concerned with this book being a re-hash of things I had heard from him elsewhere and this was not the case at all. It's not the longest book to spend your audible credits on, however, I appreciate that the content has substance. Sometimes authors want to pump out more fluff to make a book bigger/longer but that's not what happened here .He doesn't stick to the text and expands on it throughout. I thought it worked very well. He speaks in a conversational tone that I also enjoyed.Mr. Gage seems to see the world differently and is a creative and critical thinker. I hope it's contagious.
