Historia
Ever since her journalist mother died on assignment, Marin has played it safe, refusing to set foot outside of Tennessee. Her wild-child younger sister, Sadie, has trotted the globe as a photographer, living off of art and adrenaline. When Sadie returns from a tough assignment abroad and looks a little worse for wear, Marin reluctantly agrees to a sisters' spa weekend on the tropical island of Saba. But her lifelong fear of travel is affirmed when Sadie misses the flight, Marin's luggage gets mixed up, and turbulence sends her hurtling into the lap of handsome stranger Lucas Tsai.

feel good story
Revisado: 04-30-24
Loved this story so much. I laughed and cried. The speakers voice was a little annoying whenever Lucas was talking. she made it sound like he had some sort of disability, even though he's not supposed to in the book.

Historia
"Understand your brain, improve your relationships." That's what Stan Tatkin has learned from his leading-edge work as a researcher and couples therapist. In this complete audio learning program, he merges current insights from neurobiology and attachment theory to help us shift out of conflict and into deeper and more loving connections. Listeners first learn to identify attachment styles - the patterns of intimacy that begin in our earliest years - both in ourselves and in those around us.

Irritating assertions that didn't feel true
Revisado: 06-01-23
This book did provide interesting insight and I don't regret reading it. That being said, I disagreed with a lot of what was said. At the end of the book the author says he hopes that through the book he has showed us why to be in a relationship, and how to do that well. As a happily single person, after reading this book, all I have now is reasons to not be in a relationship. What he described sounds like an emotionally draining and miserable existence, all to keep a relationship alive, but at what cost? I don't agree with ever saying something untrue to your partner just to "reassure them", so they don't feel the relationship is threatened. And I also don't agree with being held personally responsible for all your partners emotions. Humans are complicated and how someone feels about anything is the product of all their life experiences. Having to apologize when you did nothing wrong just to keep the relationship alive, to me kind of feels like promoting relationships based on lies and promoting the idea that the success of a relationship is directly reflected by how long it lasted. All in all, reading this book really irritated me and made me want to continue to be single.

Historia
Charlie Hall has never found a lock she couldn’t pick, a book she couldn’t steal, or a bad decision she wouldn’t make. She's spent half her life working for gloamists, magicians who manipulate shadows to peer into locked rooms, strangle people in their beds, or worse. Gloamists guard their secrets greedily, creating an underground economy of grimoires. And to rob their fellow magicians, they need Charlie Hall.

Mystery magic thriller
Revisado: 05-31-22
I won't lie, there were many characters and at times I got confused and lost track of who was who. But I kept listening and the story did not disappoint! I loved Charlie's fearless personality and I loved how Vinces character was built up throughout the story.

Historia
We already rely on science to tell us what to eat, when to exercise, and how long to sleep. Why not use science to help us improve our relationships? In this revolutionary book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller scientifically explain why some people seem to navigate relationships effortlessly, while others struggle.

interesting theory
Revisado: 03-06-22
This booke provides an interesting theory although the advice offered feels more useful towards the anxious attachment. To be totally honest I'm not quite sure I understand the psychology of the avoidant attachment after reading this book. I also believe maybe it overgeneralizes a little and in the end, everyone's attachment is unique to the specific circumstances of their life.

Historia
Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year's birthday is unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she's never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year's Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990 - and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it's no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

Such a delight!
Revisado: 01-05-22
Listening to this book was as delightful as eating my favorite chocolate. So funny, so romantic, so cute! I laughed, I cried, I wanted to slow down so I could make it last longer. Would love to see this as a movie, especially the proposal scene.
