Historia
Since the dawn of civilization, a hidden hand has gripped mankind. Operating in darkness with limitless wealth and power, this ancient Shadow Caste has controlled every major event in human history - mass migrations, revolutions, plagues, even two world wars. But now these ancient “caretakers” want to change the global experiment. Civilization is too successful, they believe, and our overpopulation threatens the existence of all life on earth.

Amateurish Writing
Revisado: 10-10-24
Compelling enough to keep me listening, but the story was frustratingly poorly written at times. The scientific and historical aspects were the most compelling, but the action sequences were so annoying that I fast forwarded through them. Similarly, the dialogue, especially of the Sean Wyatt character, was annoying.

Historia
A thrill-seeking Harvard linguistics professor and an ultrasecret branch of the Catholic Church go head-to-head in a race to uncover the secrets of the lost city of Atlantis. The ruins of the technologically advanced, eerily enigmatic ancient civilization promise their discoverer fame, fortune, and power...but hold earth-shattering secrets about the origin of man. While world-famous linguist and archaeologist, Thomas Lourds, is shooting a film that dramatizes his flamboyant life and scientific achievements, satellites spot impossibly ancient ruins along the Spanish coast.

Compelling Plot and Engaging. But misogynistic.
Revisado: 07-06-24
The action, mystery, plot, and intrigue kept my attention. The many, many misogynistic comments were annoying to say the least, and, the main character was incredibly unlikable as a result.
The narrator has a great voice, but his accents are horrible.

Historia
Four strangers and six weeks: this is all that separates Mara from one life-changing payday. She was surprised when reality TV producers came knocking at Primal Instinct—the survival school where she teaches rich clients not to die during a night outdoors—and even more shocked to be cast in their new show, Civilization. Now she just has to live off the land with her fellow survivors for long enough to get the prize money.

Misleading Description
Revisado: 06-12-23
I kept waiting to get to the actual plot line, but it never came. The only interesting twist was never explained, leaving me feeling duped by the end for having wasted so much time on this worthless book. The only saving grace was the narrator.
