Historia
Rock and roll in the BC (Before Cooper) era was a tamer, milder world. In Who I Really Am, Cooper’s latest addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, we learn how the boa-wearing (not the feathered kind) maestro arrived at a show and sound - let’s call it AC for After Cooper - that has entertained millions of kids while terrifying parents in equal measure. Cooper drew inspiration from Saturday matinee horror movies, applied a "no such thing as too much" attitude, and hitched it to a kick-ass rock and roll band.

It was great listening to the man himself tell the story of his life and career. There is so much I didn’t know. He is such a good man and a great performer. I learned a whole lot about the music he made and the life he led. I loved every minute of it.

Historia
NYPD Detective Alec MacAidan has always been good with weird. After all, his life has been a string of the unexplainable. But when an injured man gives him cryptic clues, then turns to dust in front of him, Alec's view on weird is changed forever. Cronin, a vampire Elder, has spent the last 1,000 years waiting for Alec. He'd been told his fated one would be a man wielding a shield, but he didn't expect him to be human, and he certainly didn't expect that shield to be a police badge.

A sexy, funny, thrill ride.
Revisado: 01-30-20
I absolutely love the twist NR Walker puts on history with this series of books. And Joel Leslie is a master at accents. I listen to this whenever I want a feel good story. Be aware it is a M/M story (which I personally love). I think everyone needs to read books about other sexualities to understand them and see that we are all looking for love in our own way. And this is funny and exciting and sweet with some adventure on top of it all. I highly recommend the whole series!

Historia
Twelve months after his change, Alec MacAidan is still getting used to his many vampire talents. While most vampires would give anything to have more than one supernatural power, Alec craves nothing more than peace and time alone with Cronin. But when Alec meets entities from outside this realm, he's left powerless in their presence. Zoan are half-lycan, half-dragon creatures that have slipped through time and reality, seemingly undetected by man and vampire. Or have they?

Great story and best narration ever!
Revisado: 11-06-19
I love all the books in this series. N R Walker has a fantastic imagination and her mix of fact and fiction is mind be singly believable. Joel Leslie is my favorite narrator. His mastery of so many different accents is amazing and seem less. I have listened to this series four times now and it never gets old. I highly recommend both the author, the series, and the narrator.

Historia
Most of us have instinctive evidence the world is ending - balmy December days, face-to-face conversation replaced with heads-to-screens zomboidism, a world at constant war, a political system in disarray. We hear some myths and lies so frequently that they feel like truths: Civilization is humankind’s greatest accomplishment. Progress is undeniable. Count your blessings. You’re lucky to be alive here and now. Civilized to Death counters the idea that progress is inherently good, arguing that the "progress" defining our age is analogous to an advancing disease.

Finally a history that makes sense!
Revisado: 10-31-19
I have been saddened with the state of society today. And the histories we are fed have never quite made sense. This book is a breath of fresh air. It is a wake up call for all of humanity on how to save ourselves and our species from extinction. Our penchant for war, isolationism, greed, and wealth is killing us. We are all humans no matter our race, religion, country of origin, wealth, or sex. How we treat each other and our environment will be our saving grace or our ultimate demise. We are heading for a dismal future if we don't take the lessons in this book to heart and start to become more concerned with others and less concerned with ourselves. Only by changing our perceptions on wealth, health, community, and education can we and our next generations survive. It's time we take control of our own lives and turn off the tv, computer, radio, and anything else that tells us how they think we should live and think. I have felt this way for years and now I have a resource that supports those thoughts and feelings. Thank you so much for this enlightening book!

Historia
Decades before the American Revolution, Benjamin Franklin lamented that English settlers were constantly fleeing over to the Indians - but Indians almost never did the same. Tribal society has been exerting an almost gravitational pull on Westerners for hundreds of years, and the reason lies deep in our evolutionary past as a communal species. The most recent example of that attraction is combat veterans who come home to find themselves missing the incredibly intimate bonds of platoon life.

Everyone needs to listen to this book
Revisado: 06-15-17
I was deeply moved by the content of this book. The message here is one every human needs to hear. The necessity of community and of contributing to the common good is paramount to our survival. Coming together instead of polarizing ourselves is the key to so many of society's problems. He makes a convincing argument to fixing our common through cooperation and respect. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Historia
In today's society the fascination with all things supernatural has become a fad among teenagers and young adults. Movies about witchcraft, covens, Wiccans, and other magical beings have caused the practice of magic to be clumped into the generic term paganism. The truth is that Wiccan is very different from traditional witchcraft. Wiccan, witchcraft, and paganism are not interchangeable terms. If you want to be Wiccan, your first journey is to understand what Wiccan is.

Great basic information!
Revisado: 12-28-16
I am looking into the Wiccan way of life as a way to bring peace into my life. I have read or listened to numerous books and found this one to be wonderfully simple and instructive. It doesn't overwhelm a newbie like me with lots of history or instruction. It does a great job of explaining what Wicca is and isn't and the basic tools and concepts it employs. I enjoyed the narrator as he was clear and easy to listen to. I definitely recommend this to others who want clear, basic information.

Good for parents but lacking steps for adults.
Revisado: 10-27-16
I really liked the information about mindset and what it is, how it manifests , and how to know which you are. But unless you are a parent looking to help a child you won't find a lot about the steps necessary to change your own mindset. I wish I had had this information years ago. My own kids would have benefited greatly. I would definitely recommend this to any parent.

Mind expanding information
Revisado: 10-06-16
The first thing I like about this book is that the author narrates it. I find it gives a book something extra. I love books about the brain/mind connection. I have always felt there was a symbiotic relationship there, not a one or the other. I like how he points out how our brain doesn't control everything nor does our mind but that they both lay a art in who we are and what we do. His science is sound and he admits to not knowing it all unlike some other books I have read. I have a lot to absorb and will listen again after I have had time to process some of it.
