Just a narrator reading a book about art. Nowhere does it give you info if there are examples or photos or a workbook? I am disappointed. I even Googled it, went on Barns and Nobel and I'm trying to see if there is more to this book. At 1 hour and 33 minutes, This was a waste of an Audible credit. Live and Learn.

Quinta is going to have a great carreer

I had ZERO idea who Quinta was until i started listening to her book. As a matter of fact, a few months before I started listening I remember Jimmy Kimmel getting bad press for pretending to be passed out on stage while some poor actress had to give her acceptance speech. I learned during this book that it was Quinta Brunson getting her first Emmy win. I also learned she created a hit show called Abbot Elementary for which she won that Emmy! about a week before I bought this audiobook I would watch Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and again I had zero clue that Quinta was the actress playing Oprah. I think she is multi-talented and I really enjoyed this book. I am officially a fan.

I give this audio book a big ole "noine"

I listen to the Howard Stern show on Sirius every day. I love Gary, and I always feel bad when they pick on him extensively. But I love how Gary takes it and does not complain. It was interesting to find out how Gary got his start and how he became the producer of the show. My only (ugh moment) in this book is when he has the sidebar phone interviews with his friends/wife ect. the MUSIC that he chose to play under it was so bad!! I was like geez for a guy show knows music you sure picked some cheese. I also am a fan of vinyl so I can relate to him. if you are reading this Gary, YOU ROCK!!! I was very entertained by this book.

I very much enjoyed this Audio book. Here is why

I am an avid Audible book buyer. I have purchased over 50 audiobooks on Audible. Mostly celebrity autobiographies. But I decided to give this story a try. I loved that it takes place in the early 1990s. It takes the listener to Chicago, Detroit, LA, Hotels, Cafes, and Bars. Lots of bars. I prefer books read by the author and was happy that the author Melissa Sorrentino's narration made it fun. She is very good at voices and her mastery of giving specificity and details had me imagining this story.
The book follows not just the main character, but also many others. It covers friendship, family, LGBT subplots, marriage, divorce, adultery, forgiveness, rock and roll, romance, love, and the American Dream. The author is very skilled in her ability to paint a picture. I often times visualized this story and thought it would make a very entertaining movie!!
It had many plot twists and some scary and surprising parts that I listened to on the edge of my seat! Yes. Give this audiobook a listen!

CALM DOWN DAVE

Daves narration is condescending and borderline yelling.

My advice. Calm down Dave. Take a deep breath. Lower your voice and speak softly into the microphone. Do not emphasize every other word by increasing the volume of your voice. Do not use the condescending tone and "I'm making fun of you" voices.
His FINANCIAL ADVICE IS GOOD!! BUT i do not know if i could listen to another book narrated by Dave Ramsey?
He comes off as, well, a jerk.

Ugh hard to listen to. literally

I'm not sure if i learned ANYTHING from this. book because i was so distracted by the NARRATOR!?!? his delivery style, Very robotic. lots of weird pauses? and discourages continued listening. i don't know. i'm not sure where all these 5 star reviews came from i'll tell you that.

Pretty Funny. Wished ALL was read by Baldwin

This book was funny. Aleck Baldwin is (to me) so funny as D tRump. but a few chapters in he says "im dying here" and has another reader take over. I can totally understand and don't blame him. Having to read over 5 hours in "that voice" would, i'm sure, be excruciating for the reader. BUT when the other 2 narrators (co-author Kurt Anderson) and later Oliver Wyman read, i don't know ... I was instantly bored and the humor was not the same. ONLY MY OPINION. which means, not much.

Do yourself a favor .....GET THIS AUDIO BOOK!!!!!

I read Confessions of a Prairie Bitch 5 years ago. The minute I opened it up I pretty much didn't stop reading. I didn't want to stop reading. I couldn't stop reading. As soon as I was done I was ready to read it again.
Confessions of a Prairie Bitch read by Alison Arngrim herself is FINALLY available and I could not be happier! In a style you come to expect from the woman who portrayed Nellie Oleson for many seasons on Little House on the Prairie, Arngrim shares her story from her childhood, her years on Little House, Michael Landon's passing, her role as an AIDS activist, her involvement in PROTECT.org (the woman has changed LAWS to protect children people!) and beyond. Alison is a woman who isn't shy about opening up, and you'll love her for it.
Alison Arngrim is a natural storyteller. She is a brilliant comic and in real life, A VERY NICE PERSON!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Ok, here is my 2 cents. These are very funny reviews written by very good writers. I am impressed that there actually very funny people out there sarcastically writing reviews of obviously dumb (real) products. A bottle of wolf urine,? 1 Gallon - 128 fluid ounces of Tuscan whole milk? Bic for HER pens?! haha. They were read humorously by the comics. I made for a nice hour of easy listening in my car.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jane Lynch? Why or why not?
