Historia
When a fishing boat is wrecked off the treacherous North Sea coast and the body of a young woman washes up on the beach beside the iconic ‘Marsden Rock’, DCI Ryan cannot ignore the call to duty. With one already dead and more human cargo missing from the wreckage, Ryan and his team race to find the remaining souls - before it’s too late and their investigation turns to murder. As they uncover the seedy underbelly of Tyneside, cold and calculated opportunism clashes with the rock-hard arm of the Law, but there’s one thing that proves stronger than stone.

The Rock

Always does a fantastic job of making you feeling a part of the story and a part of the lives of these characters. I love that she always includes a mild recap on the characters. It enables you to read them as stand alone titles without feeling lost in the series. Her books are filled with intense emotion and detail. This book in particular, she took extra care in the dedication and prefacing with a warning about the topic. Trafficking is a sensitive topic and not many authors include a warning of the content and tribute to the real men &women that that suffer their fate.
Always one of my favorite reads.

Historia
Nils Shapiro accepts what appears to be an easy, lucrative job: find out if Beverly Mayer’s grandson is foolishly throwing away his trust fund in Hollywood, especially now, in the wake of his fiancée’s tragic death. However, that easy job becomes much more complicated once Nils arrives in Los Angeles, a disorienting place where the sunshine hides dark secrets. Nils quickly suspects that Ebben Mayer’s fiancée was murdered and that Ebben himself may have been the target.

Narration Change Negatively Impacts Storyline
Revisado: 05-01-22
The storyline was a little bit slower and slightly harder to follow than in his other books. I also would have liked to see his previous narrator for the first 3 books come back and narrate this book. The voice change changes the outlook of his whole personality. The other voices used were also hard to hear and follow. The Russian had way to thick of an accent to understand clearly. Brit had a very annoying and fast paced voice which I also found hard to follow. Jamison sounded completely different and his friend sounded nearly identical to his voice. Most of the other characters all generally sounded the same. I would have liked to see the same voices from the previous books play the same roles in this book.

Historia
A crime wave has hit town. The target is a highly sought-after brand of streetwear called Hybird X, clothing that costs a fortune and resells for unbelievable prices. Houses are burgled, kids mugged on the streets...and finally a young man dies, all for the sake of his shoes. Then another boy’s body is found in a pile of rubbish. Meanwhile illegal steroids are flooding the streets. And there are dark movements on the marshes.

Amazing read with intense suspense.
Revisado: 03-24-22
I would give this book, and author a 5 star rating. She does an incredible job of stringing multiple storylines into one big production. If you like bold full of crime, suspense, mystery and will keep you on yours listening till 3 in the morning. This book and series is for you!! Another thing I love is that she connects all her books together. She uses the same detectives for each book and some of the cases carry over into the next book as a side story. Highly recommend!!
