Historia
The galaxy is in flames. Chaos is in the ascendant across the stars. The Great Rift has split the holdings of the Imperium in twain, isolating entire sectors from the light of Holy Terra. But all hope is not lost. The Primarch Roboute Guilliman has returned from deathless sleep and appointed Commander Dante, lord of the Blood Angels, as Regent and Warden of the newly dubbed Imperium Nihilus. In the Baal system, the shattered holding of the Chapter is being rebuilt, and Dante plans the greatest campaign of his long life, to retake half an empire.

Listen if you’re a fan of Dante and/or the Blood Angels
Revisado: 10-17-24
This is the third in a trilogy: Dante, The Devastation of Baal, and Darkness in the Blood. This book takes place a few months after the devastation of Baal. While it’s a good book that helps further the story, it is the weakest of the three books. It’s just kind of there, like some kind of filler fluff, but it does a great job of following Dante in the present and showing how he handled struggles early in his career as a captain to Chapter Master. It also shows Mephiston cross the Rubicon.

GUTS: Greatness Under Tremendous Stress is more than a motivation guide. It's a complete life-changing program full of powerful, transformational strategies straight from the Navy SEAL playbook. It's like a personal boot camp for retraining the brain, breaking bad habits and thought patterns, taking risks, and turning apathy into action.

Need motivation? This is where you’ll find it.
Revisado: 04-19-24
Written and read by a former U.S. Navy SEAL, this books teaches you to disregard negativity, defeatist mindsets, and victim mentalities. It’s a guide for being your best self, through confidence, discipline, and humility. Not only are the fundamentals discussed, but real world examples are given, as well as techniques for improvement you can do yourself in everyday situations. GUTS is a modern day guide on the philosophy of Stoicism, and I would recommend everyone read it and ask themselves if they’re truly living as the best version of themselves.

Since it was first published more than 25 years ago, Robert Fitzgerald's prizewinning translation of Homer's battle epic has become a classic in its own right: a standard against which all other versions of The Iliad are compared. Fitzgerald's work is accessible, ironic, faithful, written in a swift vernacular blank verse that "makes Homer live as never before" ( Library Journal).

Dan Stevens delivers a performance worthy of an epic Greek drama. If you’ve wanted to read the Iliad, I would highly recommend this version.

The best version yet!
Revisado: 01-27-23
There have been so many different versions of this put to film and up until now my favorite version has been the George C Scott one, but nothing beats the original. Charles Dickinson always impresses me with his brilliant wit and comedic timing. To top it off, Tim Curry absolutely nails it! This had me feeling genuinely happy throughout and ready to applaud by the end of it!

Historia
Buddhism began with Gotama the Buddha in the sixth century BCE and has developed two chief forms: Theravada (or Hinayana) is found especially in Sri Lanka, Burma, and Thailand; Mahayana is found in Japan, China, Korea, and Indochina. Zen, a more recent form of Buddhism, is found throughout the world. Some believe Buddhism is not properly understood as a religion, though this presentation describes its religious qualities.

Revisado: 01-18-23
This is a very well voice acted, entertaining, and educational book. I was able to learn a lot about not only about the origins and practices of Buddhism, but the many different that follow a slight variation throughout the different countries, belief systems, and time periods. If you’re interested in Buddhism at all, this is a great piece of work to broaden your education on the matter and perhaps to help steer you towards a particular viewpoint, if you were wanting to practice Buddhism

Historia
In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. This is the shocking true story of an American dream that turned into a nightmare beyond imagining for the Lutz family, who were forced to flee their new home in terror.

Horror done right! It’s a great read, unsettling, and realistic
Revisado: 01-05-23
It was very well voice acted, suiting the tone perfectly. I actually had to look up whether this was a true story or not, it was so convincing. It made me think of the book the shining, and realize how much better this book is than that one, and I guess that’s saying a lot. This may be the best book I’ve ever seen in the horror genre

Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.

Fantastic voice acting!
Revisado: 12-31-22
This story is about twice as long as it needs to be and paradoxically rushes to an ending at the last. A TON of the dialogue is simply the same sentence being repeated slightly different over and over and many appear to be pointless. The story is great however, up until the 1/3rd point. Before David goes back to school for the second time and after he meets his Aunt, I was ready to rate this as my favorite book but after that, the 2/3rds that remained were a real slog that was occasionally broken by some great moments. Don’t get me wrong, Charles’s Dickinson is a very talented writer and it’s a joy to listen to his mastery of the dramatics. It’s just too long. Thankfully Richard Armitage is a joy to listen to. I might have abandoned listening to it, we’re it not for how skilled he was at reading this.

Not only was the story very well done and delivered in a interesting and realistic format, but the voice acting was top notch across-the-board. This was thoroughly entertaining and I really wish we had of gotten this as a movie instead of the one with Brad Pitt. That movie did not do this awesome book justice.

A vicious 15-year-old droog is the central character of this 1963 classic, a frightening fable about good and evil, and the meaning of human freedom. In Anthony Burgess' nightmare vision of the future, where the criminals take over after dark, the story is told by the central character, Alex, who talks in a brutal invented slang that brilliantly renders his and his friends' social pathology.

Revisado: 12-12-22
This is a very captivating book with a voice all of its own. It’s nice to read something utterly unique. The last chapter wasn’t originally published in America and I can kind of see why. The story was a little bit stronger, leaving it out. But it was cool getting to hear the complete unabridged version to decide for myself.

Better than the movie! Felt kinda like Metal Gear Solid 3
Revisado: 12-08-22
This book was surprisingly well done! I don’t know what I was expecting, considering that the movie was a little over the top and kind of unbelievable. But this book took pains to make Rambo a more sympathetic and believable character. It was really cool getting to see him break bad in Vietnam one last time. and, as an added bonus, this book had some very strong Metal Gear Solid 3 vibes, somehow written long before Metal Gear was a thing
