Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

Poor reading, great story
Revisado: 07-09-24
You can tell this was produced prior to the golden age of audiobooks. It sporadic female reader is distracting and random.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Untuck this recording quality

Unlistenable and amateur quality
Revisado: 03-22-21
The profanity is for shock value and gets old fast. The sound quality is poor, it sounds like it was recorded in a car with an old analog tape recorder. It’s read fast with poor enunciation.

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Not impressed. This is a 2 hour essay that could’ve been written with Wikipedia and a thesaurus.

Historia
The word "Zen" is one of the most popular words used to refer to a state of being at peace or being chill in the midst of many things that are going on in life. It's also one of the most misunderstood ones. Zen may be formally defined a type school or branch of Japanese meditation called Mahayana Buddhism, which highlights the importance of intuition and meditation.

Unlistenable narration, have to return to Audible!!!
Revisado: 04-18-18
It’s good content (not original but a collection of quotes), however the poor production and the fast pace of the narration makes it unlistenable. It’s like the narrator is trying to get through it as quickly as possible and does not pause between quotes. The irony is that’s it’s about zen and mindfulness. I even slowed the playback to .75 and it’s still unlistenable. I’ve never returned a book to Audible, but this one will be returned.
