Alys Stevens has an average until she find her husband in bed with another women. OUCH! The Silver sisters are a great bunch of characters and what a great group of friends. I feel in love with this series right away! I love the magic and the love the sisters share for each other. I have not read any books from this author before but I can't wait to try book 2. I can see this series being picked up for streaming, TV and/or a movie or two. I think they should research books more to come up with new idea for more TV shows and movies than what they create currently. I would love to see what they can do with this series! Great book Jennifer Hart!! I listened to this audiobook and I really enjoyed the narration! What a great job Jacqueline Rendell!

Historia
When Araceli Flores Harper is sent to stay with her great-aunt Ottilie in her ramshackle Victorian home, the plan is simple. She’ll buckle down and get ready for college. Life won’t be exciting, but she’ll cope, right? Wrong. From the start, things are very, very wrong. Her great-aunt still leaves food for the husband who went missing 20 years ago, and local businesses are plastered with MISSING posters. There are unexplained lights in the woods and a mysterious lab just beyond the city limits that the locals don’t talk about. Ever.

Revisado: 02-06-25
Araceli Flores Harper is sent to live in a town that is missing so many people. Why? How? What happened? So many questions, but as you read this story I didn't expect it to pull me in as it did. I got caught up in the magic of the box Araceli finds and where these letters go. 20 years of missing people and why does a box sends letter to a soldier in WWI. This book was so good I was looking forward to listening to more as soon as I could. The narrator Nicol Zanzarella did a great job with this book. I don't read/listen to many books about time travel but I am glad this one was so good. I don't think I have ever read any other Ann Aguirre books and I would read more.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old werewolf twins Kate and Logan Danvers are none too thrilled at being shipped off to a supernatural youth leadership conference in West Virginia. From the moment they arrive at the camp, the twins sense something is off, and they react in their usual manner - Logan reserving judgment and surveying the setup while Kate charges forward, determined to get answers. Kate and Logan quickly ascertain that most of the conference attendees have already formed hostile factions, leaving the twins and a few other misfits to band together.

Wolf's Bane
Revisado: 01-10-25
Werewolf twins Kate and Logan Danvers get sent to a summer camp of supernaturals in this book. The camp is odd from the moment the twins get there but they decide to give it a chance. It gets weirder as their time at the camp goes by. Teenagers with more than just raging hormones, but maybe something more like an experiment? who knows! This audiobook was a fun story about many different supernaturals but the book does leave us hanging and wanting to know more. I will have to find out how it ends. I enjoyed the book very much! I also enjoyed the narration from two narrators. The two narrators gave it more of a "movie" feel to me.

The Manipulator. I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me. I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The Shadow. I didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away. I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.

Haunting Adeline
Revisado: 11-01-24
I really enjoyed this audiobook. I listened to this the most when I wanted a bit something different in my day. Adeline and her shadow were not a matched pair but things change. I think this book has harsh language in it and adult content. In chapter 41 the narrator Teddy Hamilton repeats a phase, I think just a part missed in editing but overall a great story. I like the differences in voices instead of one narrator doing both male and female vocals. The story itself pulled me in from the beginning. I wondered who the shadow was and what he wanted with Adeline. I wanted to learn more about the shadow and through the story line we learn more. I was not disappointed. This author was a new author, for me, and I think I will see what else H.D. Carlton writes. Great book and good performances.

The Body Reader
Revisado: 06-04-24
Meet Jude Fontaine, a detective that has been kidnapped and held hostage for 3 years. Once Jude escapes, the book begins to get good, for me. Emily Sutton-Smith did a great job narrating this book and I enjoyed the audiobook very much. Jude has to learn how to rejoin the world once free and she decides to go back to being a detective. I liked the story and the mystery Jude is a part of in this book. Uriah Ashby is her partner but can she really trust anyone after what she has been through? If you like mysteries and who-done it books, this series if a must read. I enjoyed it and the ending was good because I was not sure until the end if I had figured out who did it!

And they know I’d do anything to bring him back from hell—even though it means it puts both our souls into great danger. And puts my knees into running mode. (Cue the Advil.) Now, I’m headed straight into a hell that is straight out of a Greek odyssey.

So, what a great ending to a series or is it? I hope this author writes more of these books. I love this series so much. I really enjoyed Bree and all her friends. These books have action, mystery, romance, magic and everything in between in them. The supernatural elements was the cream on the cake for me. I enjoyed following along on all the adventures and I hope to join again soon. I also enjoyed the narration and can't wait for more books.

When he’s loaned a decrepit old baby stroller to cart his groceries home, the rickety squeak of the wheels comforts him. So do the sweet coos of a baby Willy knows can’t be real. Can it? Creepy, yet good
Revisado: 03-12-24
Willy and Marianne lose a child and decide to move to Maine. Willy finds a lonesome bridle path near their new home and daydreams of a child that was not meant to be. He is loaned a old baby stroller from years past to carry groceries home in one day. While using the stroller he daydreams of the baby lost. Is that crying coming from the stroller? Or cooing? This can not be, can it? This book was a bit scary and a good short story into the mind of Joe Hill. I learned that Joe Hill is Stephen King's son and have wanted to try one of his books ever since. This book did not disappoint! I also enjoyed the narration by Robert Petkoff.

You know, dating in your 40s should be easier. Should be. But it really isn’t. My first date in I don’t-know-how-long is broken up by my ex-husband. I mean, he’s dead, but still. Then a cryptic note from a voodoo queen. A siren who can’t keep it in his pants. And a hot fae who seems to be everything I’ve ever wanted. Except that he’s not a certain blacksmith. I can deal, right?

Revisado: 03-11-24
Dating in your forties is not any easier for Bree. When you love bad boys, anything and everything can go wrong. Bree knows how to find trouble and trouble finds her. This is a great series and I think this series could be a great TV show or movie! I would LOVE to see it. Bree is in a love triangle and she needs to decide who she loves, eventually. As Bree tries to stop the dark counsel from making a spell that will end the world, action is around every corner. Can she stop the spell without losing more friends? This is a wonderful story and I also listened to most of it as a audio book, Lauren Fortgang is a great narrator. I'd love to learn from her. Anyone interested in action and ghosts, fey, witches, goblins, and more, you need to read this series!

They need her to bring a witch back to Savannah for a trial that Bree is sure is a load of hooey. But not just any witch. The first one. The oldest one. Midlife Witch Hunter--who wouldn't love her!
Revisado: 12-19-23
I enjoyed this book very much. I listened to the audio version the most and I enjoyed the narrator bring the story to life. Bree always finds a bit of trouble in each story but she is true to her friends. In this book we travel with Bree and her friends to south of France on a hunt for the first witch. We meet some new friends and say a fair well, in a sense, to old friends. Can Bree find and protect the first witch? Why is she looking for her? Find out when you read or listen to this next adventure in the Forty Proof series. Great book!

Bree was hoping for a few days off from dealing with monsters, bad guys, or general weirdness that doesn’t fit into a human box of what is supposed to be real. What she got was a stay in the hospital with an undead roommate and a whole new set of problems that keep rising from the grave. But her love life is at least on track. Until it’s not. And when it goes sideways, it jumps straight into the drink and sinks to the bottom. Now, Bree has to put her heart on the back burner as she is offered a major job hunting down the very person causing all the undead to rise.

Revisado: 09-28-23
This was another great book from Shannon! I really enjoy this series. I completely relate this Bree and love all her friends. Bree deals with monsters and so much more in this book. She learns more about her friends and who her enemies are in this book. I ending was not what I wanted to hear but I am excited to read the next book and see what happens next. I listened to the audiobook and Lauren Fortgang is awesome! She bring the book to life. I think this books would be something TV or the movies need to grab while they can. I think these series would be great for TV or the movies and if done well a great giggle along the way!
