This book is a gift - the author opens up her life and family history in a way that I truly appreciate. It also adds legitimacy to her works of fiction.

Even though I am an American, there is much I identify with due to the stories/experiences of my family during the depression and the consequences of war, plus the life in rural America on and near reservations.

The baby gimmick was a bit too much

The main story line was intriguing and made one think of how life was at the end of the war, especially for the young who were abandoned.

I love this series and have listed/read it many times, so when the gender of Maisie's baby went from a girl to a boy in a contrivance, it was annoying and did not add to the story line. In fact, I think it detracted from it.

Everything else was engaging and a bit bittersweet. I will miss all the characters if this is indeed goodbye. I do wonder what happened to Pascale, Francesca Thomas and, as mentioned by others, DI Stratton. In fact, I would love to see a series of book about Francesca Thomas.

Excellent all around!

Kenneth Branagh does excellent work with this book. The Chronicles of Narnia are wonderful and his reading brought this one to life.

This is my favorite book in the Chronicles of Narnia... it is wonderful to have it as an audible book.

Was a bit disappointed with Patrick Stewart's reading - I think I had too high of expectations as I love his acting. Once I got used to his style, I really enjoyed the book.

This edition is very good as it not dramatized nor background music. It is well-read.

My only complaint is different sections and chapters are not well labeled, so you cannot quickly find a book and chapter.

Fun, informative interview

This interview made me want to read more books by the author - even after reading all the Serious of Unfortunate Events as they were released.

Overtly biased but interesting

Bradley vents his hatred of Roosevelt and Christianity unabashedly in this book. It feels like he is looking for a place to vent his venom for the Pacific Theater in WWII. This period of history is much more complex than he portrays it... and the bias is so obvious as to be funny at times. He tends to portray all empire building as Aryan and/or Christian in roots, which is frankly rubbish... one almost feels like he is one step from saying Roosevelt is like Hitler and America is like Nazi Germany in its following of the leadership.
