Great Installment in a Great Series

Love the whole series. There’s so much Christmas spirit and fun without being treacly. The narrator does a wonderful job with all of the accents. This series is becoming a Christmas tradition for me. I read it every year and look forward to seeing new installments

Great Story

Not as funny as the first, but there are some really fun moments and the mystery really keeps you guessing. Lane’s family is wonderful and humorous.

Loved the main characters

Con and Micah were awesome, but I think that Con’s mom was portrayed a little too extreme. She was too shrill at the beginning and then changed too much too quickly at the end with all of her growth happening off page. Otherwise a great book.

Loved It!!

Great story, just enough sex, loved the main characters. I would have liked to have seen more of the families, and gotten more depth with some of the minor characters, but overall a great read.

Not just a love story

This novel had great character development and gave wonderful insight into how much pressure people face when dealing with the spotlight. I loved Eddie and Isaac, but I loved the rest of the royal family and their relationships as they struggled to cope with the pressure of being royal. Great novel and read spectacularly

Great Finish for the Series

I have watched these stories and the narrator get better and better with each book. The first book was a little choppy and the quality of the recording was not great. But there was more than enough positive points to keep me interested. After 5 books, the author has really impressed me with his improvement and the early problems with the sound have been resolved. I have always enjoyed the characters and the impossible situations that they find themselves in, but bringing them back to where they started and reducing the complexity of their circumstances made for a very good story.

So much truth to digest!

I'm not one to leave many reviews, but this book was just so thought provoking that I felt like i had to. Andy Stanley has written a book that is deep and impactful, all the more so because he's also entertaining in his presentation. I can see where many people who have chosen tradition over truth might be offended or find his work controversial but I believe that God is working through him. Over and over again, the New Testament authors tell us that the old law has been replaced with a new way of life, and yet, we, the body of believers, cling to so many of those outdated ways of thinking and acting. Jesus did not command us to be spiteful, bitter and judgmental--he didn't call us to point our fingers at those who don't live up to our own interpretations of an obsolete covenant--He called us to love each other, just as Jesus did. I pray every day that I can be more like Jesus.

I mostly listen to Audible in my car, and I found myself putting off getting out of the car for half an hour as I was so captivated by what Andy was teaching. I have recommended this book to several people and had several deeply moving discussions surrounding it. I plan to listen again soon because there is just so much truth to digest that I couldn't get it all the first time! Great book!

Excellent Book, Excellent Narrator

I've read a few negative reviews of the narrator, but I have to disagree with most of them. While the narrator does speak quickly at times, I find her style to be refreshingly enthusiastic. She brings life to the words of the author in a uniquely entertaining and enlightening way. Her speed varies based upon the subject matter, giving the listener depth to the narrative that many narrators lack. It's more like a going to see a really good preacher, rather than a traditional narration, something which definitely appeals to me. I would suggest you listen to the sample before you buy the book (this book or any other book) because we all have personal preferences and some people do not respond to this narrator's style.

As for the book itself, it is wonderful. I'm about half way through as I write this, and I've found the illustrations the author uses to be helpful insights into what could be very difficult subject matter. Instead, I have found myself laughing along at points, and crying at others as I relate to the experiences of the author. As an introvert with quite a few trust and abandonment issues of my own, this book has spoken to my heart and to my soul, showing me new ways to open up, take a leap and allow God to catch me if I fall.
