Historia
In this first book of an all-new Deryni trilogy, New York Times best-selling author Katherine Kurtz takes listeners back in time - before King Kelson's bride...before King Kelson's birth... when the magical Deryni blood was sought by the most powerful men and women in the kingdom of Gwynedd. Back when a man named Donal ruled over all.

many years since I started the Kurtz Deneryi series of books. Story works, but...
Revisado: 04-24-24
Nick Sullivan's narration is competent, well enunciated and paced, and puts me to sleep. Will not be purchasing and further of these audiobooks.

Historia
Echoes of the ancients' power are distant memories, tattered and faded by the passage of eons, but that is about to change. A new dawn has arrived. Latent abilities, harbored in mankind's deepest fibers, wait to be unleashed. Ancient evils awaken, and old fears ignite the fires of war. In times such as these, ordinary people have the power to save the world...or destroy it.

very poor performance
Revisado: 02-12-22
the narration is almost monotone. I had trouble maintaining concentration on the story. If the story had someone else reading, I might recommend this book.

Historia
For 500 years, the Gods have united the Three Nations in harmony. Now, that balance has been shattered, and chaos threatens. A town burns, and flames light the night sky. Hunted and alone, 17-year-old Eric flees through the wreckage. The mob grows closer, baying for the blood of their tormentor. Guilt weighs on his soul, but he cannot stop, cannot turn back. If he stops, they die. For two years, he has carried this curse, bringing death and destruction wherever he goes. But now, there is another searching for him.

poor writing, lackluster narration, unimaginative story
Revisado: 03-30-19
This story appears to be a first, overly ambitious, novel. It has few interesting characters, stilted language and inconsistent dialogue. boring, boring, boring...I can not recommend these books to anyone, even preteens.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Roy Dotrice does not do a professional job
Revisado: 04-15-16
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I have read all the currently published installments and wanted to have a audible copy for when I go for a walk. Roy Dotrice's performance makes it hard to follow the story's details even though I have read it atleast 3 times.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Roy Dotrice?
John Lee. He has never disappointed.
Was A Game of Thrones worth the listening time?
