Historia
For three crucial years in the 1930s, the Spanish Civil War dominated headlines in America and around the world as volunteers flooded to Spain to help its democratic government fight off a fascist uprising led by Francisco Franco and aided by Hitler and Mussolini. Today we're accustomed to remembering the war through Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls and Robert Capa's photographs. But Adam Hochschild has discovered some less familiar yet far more compelling characters who reveal the full tragedy and importance of the war.

An unbelievable mish mosh of Muslim terrorists and Mexican drug cartels with unidimensional characters and government heroes. The body count exceeds any Shakespeare tragedy. The Clancy heirs must really be hard up for money to allow this to be published

Is King losing his mojo?
Revisado: 09-09-23
I am a devoted King fan. He is America's greatest story teller. His themes are horror and the existence of evil with a bit of the supernatural. but this is a trite, predictable boring horror /crime novel that makes Freddie Kruger movies seem unpredictable. The horror and evil in the story is being old. King's description of the elderly, both the good and bad characters seems designed to horrify and revolt. Never mind that the villains are octogenarian cannibals.
The other theme of horror is the Covid epidemic. Not the death of millions, but what it revealed of the divisions in U.S. society that allow people to deny Covid as it was killing them. The many reviews that object to his description of the epidemic illustrate my point.
I am also disappointed in Holly. That anyone with her many insecurities would choose to be a solo investigator in a pandemic is both frustrating and unrealistic. Her relationship with her mother is unidimensional and the financial aspect is unbelievable as is her final escape. King can do better, much better

Historia
On June 30, 1908, an object fell from the sky, releasing more energy than a thousand Hiroshima bombs. A Siberian forest was flattened, but the strike left no significant crater. The anomaly came to be known as the Tunguska Event, and scientists have never agreed whether it was the largest meteor strike in recorded history - or something else. Alien artifacts have been uncovered since the 1908 event, and a new star drive is discovered.

worst worst Sci fi novel ever
Revisado: 12-02-22
Obviously hastily written. Leave so much unexplained that it stretches beyond the belief. The Russians so stupid and aggressive that they start an interplanetary war. They and us simultaneously each find an alien spaceship with unlimited power and fuel and are able to fly it to Europa. So bad it is almost humorous.

A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. Historia
It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind. Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there. Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown.
